KIDC Software and Downloads Library

In view of the fact that our library is constantly growing, we've decided to divide it into several pages in order to speed up loading time and to better categorize the contents.

The majority of our system-related software is linked to outside sources. Although we do our best to make sure these links stay up-to-date, the internet is a changeable medium and links do break occasionally as outside sites change - unfortunately this is out of our hands. Please note that some packages are shareware and if you decide to keep such programs, you are expected to pay the author the shareware fee (usually listed in the "Read Me" file).

Macintosh Software (OS 7.x, 8.x. 9.x and OS X)

PC Software (Win 95/98/00/ME)

PDA Software (Palm OS 2.x, 3.x)

Desktop Images & Wallpaper

Various Klingon-related images, suitable for use on your computer's desktop or as wallpaper. Three most popular screen resolution sizes are available for each.

Klingon Programmer's Code of Honour

All Klingons who develop code for the glory of the empire follow this "Code of Honour" for software warriors.

If you had a Klingon on your Software Development Team...

A popular humourous piece that has made the rounds on the internet, but just in case you haven't seen it yet, here it is...

va'raq - A Klingon Programmer's Language

A speculative glance at what a programming language on a Klingon computer system would look like. The language itself is named var'aq, which happens to be meaningless in standard Klingon but sounds like it might be named after some famous Klingon computer scientist or mathematician. It's really something of a Klingon Basic, a simple, loosely-typed programming language designed mostly just to be used for programming things like command displays and high-level control systems. In its eventual final incarnation, we're looking at concurrency, advanced mathematics, and even native support for distributed programs (try finding that in the C++ standard library).
