In the Honorable-what is, what isn't thread, Revolos55 mentions joining the Klingon Imperial Forums after coming across them during a search on Klingon rituals. How did you find (or stumble, as the case may be) your way into the KIF?

After marking your ballot, it would be helpful if you would specify which mailing list, NG, site, con, etc. in the thread below.

*****************************
I came from Usenet, where I saw a post in late June 2002 asking for beta testers for a Klingon forum that was under construction. It was either in alt.startrek.klingon or alt.tv.star-trek.tos, I can't remember which (the initial announcement was cross-posted to various Trek NGs).

I (El_Nero_Diablo) found this site whilst using Google to find sites which have information on learning Klingon.
This is a VERY good site, and i like the idea at the start page with the 'Passport' chooser.

Ciao for now, El_Nero_Diablo

I found it whilst searching aslo for signs of my bretheren. It was pure chance.
I am greatful. no-one talks about my effort of filim making as the "stowaway". I would eat her heart before the first act, but she gets huge conversation. But it will be different when mine is complete. They will build statues and sign songs of glory at my victory, long after the stow away is forgotten.
BUT! I truly thank our lady for providing this forum, and I pledge as a warrior, that if she needs suport in maintaining its existance, all she need do is ask.

I Found this Site through the K.I.D.C. Main Site via a Link from my Home Organizations Links Page. I am Always Interested in Exploring The Various other Klingon Groups out there... Particularly in an Effort to Foster Greater Interaction between Groups... There are Many Klingons, and But a Single Empire!

It would be pre crash and it would be through KIDC's involvment with Klingon Homeworld. Had not really looked @ KIDC, had heard nothing positive re KIDC and really did not have a desire to spend time learning a language that I would not really have much use for. Wanted to spend my time in Klingdom on a more social/community bent.  Look @ me now.cool

Are you sure you were/are not confusing the KIDC (Klingon Imperial Diplomatic Corps) with the KLI (Klingon Language Institute)?

Obligatory plug: The KIDC is always looking for new members, and your memberships go towards maintaining the Forums and other KIDC-sponsored events and activities. Membership information can be found at http://www.klingon.org/club/membership.html.

Reminder to all: Be sure to vote in the poll at the top before posting to the thread.

I found this site as the result of a search on Klingon culture. I have signed on to a role in an RPG simm, and want my portrayal to be as realistic as possible.

Come to think of it, its about time I said where I found this place - It had a link from the Costume Guild (which I have mentioned in other posts) and I eventually got round to exploring it.  I've been here ever since and am having a great time.

I found it while searching for others like myself. I live in a very isolated area (no Klingon or Trek fandom at all), and to find such a rich Community here...I'm just very glad I found you! Smiley
I'm going to be joining the KIDC itself as soon as I get paid.  Smiley

I can't really remember where I found KIDC, but the forums I found through KIDC.
Have done several searches to locate local Klingons, both in England and now here (NL).
Seem to arrive at either KIDC, the Forums or IRC with such searches...

I found the Forums mainly from the various associated Yahoo groups. Tho I had little time ( as my posting reflects) I have found the site interesting and full of new friends.

I am back online, and looking forward to the discussions.

I look forward to those discussions.

With the state of affairs in the World today, and all eyes on the Middle East, there may be several topics.
