Narration:

The IKV SuvwI' batlh, a B'rel class Bird of Prey was in orbit of Hurgh Hov III, the House of Durq occupied planet. This planet was the scene of a joint alliance between the House of Durq and the Romulan Star Empire, one that the Infamous Krotalus Durq orchestrated himself in many negotiations. The House of Durq was widely known as a powerful house that has hidden it's objectives in taking over the Klingon Empire in it's own name. They operated in the dark and maintained honor in lip service only.

Hurgh Hov III is a Class Minshara planet much like many planets planets of the same class. Tidal locked with many different seasons, climates, and other areas of different type of geography. Hurgh Hov III is populated by a pre-industrial classed society now enslaved by the joint House of Durq and Romulan occupation. The native population takes care of many tasks that are considered beneath the occupational forces. Also the native population has been used as stock for experimental biological weapons to determine their effects and possible uses against other humanoid races from other planets.

This planet is a virtual treasure trove of dilithium crystals that are deep within the planets surface, much of the dilithium is mined for the House of Durq and some is given in tribute to the Romulan Star Empire. Some of the dilithium cannot be mined and is even deeper into the planets core. The Romulan Star Empire and the House of Durq have joined forces and resources to build a Prototype Planetary Cloaking Device that takes advantage of the dilithium deposits in using them as a power source. The device being a prototype and plagued with many problems causing earthquakes of unparalleled magnitude compared to anything that has ever been experienced on the normally geologically stable planet.

The IKV SuvwI' batlh issued an order for the recall of all the away team and Imperial Marines on Hurgh Hov III, to return soon to complete their mission of cleaning the stench of the Durq and Romulan occupational forces and the capture of the experimental planetary cloaking technology. During this time of the recall which rather a hasty withdraw ended up leaving some Imperial Marines behind to fend for themselves. They were declared dead by the Klingon Empire since these few Imperial Marines failed to show up for the recall.

This tale tells about Molek, the Imperial Marine Commander of the IKV SuvwI' batlh. Molek and his few loyal and honorable Imperial Marines that battled through countless enemies, and the battles that few would ever forget. He would find and travel with his honorable and loyal Imperial Marines, Mor'VaQ, M'Kota, Petreko Malice, and Ryan.

Prologue:

The fighting was heavy for the Imperial Marines that were assigned to the Klingon Empire's IKV SuvwI' batlh which means Warrior's Glory. This ship that was fated to battle the House of Durq and Romulan forces, it was their destiny, the crew were all on a path of vengeance and revenge that would equal none known in the universe. They all were honorable and served the Klingon Empire proudly. Garan Rajuc was the commanding officer of the IKV SuvwI' batlh, he would stamp the last stain of dishonor from the Klingon Empire, the House of Durq was his target. The beq honored him and were of the same mind, they would die for him under his command and for the glory of the Empire.

Garan was setting in his command chair looking over several reports with a keen and concentrated mind on his duty. He stood 7' tall, weighed 280 lbs, brownish black hair, brown eyes with green flecks that danced and changed colors depending on his mood. He wore his battle armor with no indication of rank that was well serviced and kept clean at all times much like the rest of his ship. He then turned to Windara and spoke. She was a 5'6 Trill woman with long and flowing red hair that looked silky and glistened like the most beautifull silk. Her eyes were green and blazing with the determination and intensity of the Empire which was unknown for someone that was not Klingon, her heart is Klingon.

"See if you can find Molek and have him report in. Have him do a roll count of all the Imperial Marines and other crew that have returned. Also have Lukara Rajuc assist with this to make this recall faster. We will make it to Trill on time for your Zhian'Tara ceremony with your father Janel and any of the others that wish to help you." He looked at her as she was moving her hands on the console doing what was required to communicate with the others. She was indeed suffering and he could see this as she was blanking out at times and being really slow, however she was still doing her duty. She then spoke.

"qaH, I cannot contact Molek, his comm is not responding to any attemps at communicating with him. I have spoken to Lukara, she is now proceding with the roll call of the Imperial Marines and the other officers that were apart of the away team." She gets a comm returned to her all the sudden. "We are still waiting for a few others to report in."

Garan grunts, he is not entirely satisfied with the report he just recieved. He did not like losing warriors even though he knew they would be in Stovo'Kor. "We will proceed without them in 20 more minutes. If they did not report in by now they are dead."

Windara hears the command and announces the departure time without emotion. She was concentrating on doing her duty, and keeping her emotions in check against the problems she is having with her symbiont. She turns back to Garan. "I have given the announcement to all decks. All officers and beq have reported in as ready to leave." She starts to shake again, the host personalities starting to overwhelm her for just a moment, she was doing battle against them and she was starting to lose. Her heart told her that she would win, she lashed out against her demons and fought them back. She came back to reality, her sense of duty came back to her once again.

Twenty minutes later the IKV SuvwI' batlh had all her beq aboard with a few still missing, she was ready to depart. Garan Rajuc gave the command to cloak the vessel, she shimmered and began to fade out of all visual reality. If anyone could see under the cloak, they would know and see her fly as the most gracefull Bird of Prey at high warp velocities.

Chapter One - Day One

A few hours before the IKV SuvwI' batlh left orbit on her way to the planet Tril, before the recall of the Imperial Marines and the other officers that were involved, Molek was fighting against the natives and other enemies in the tightly packed native city Arejun.

The fighting was intense and glorious, the battles fought continued on into the night as Hurgh Hov was setting west, down into the horizon disappearing from view and leaving the city in the overcast of red that was of blood. Soon the Imperial Marines lost formation in a man to man irregular street fighting combat in the city. Many warriors were fighting by themselves against some of the disease ridden natives, against Romulans, and the House of Durq Klingons. While the fighting was going on for control of the city many of the natives walked past tied up in chains awaiting their fate from their cruel masters, soon they would be set free from the servitude of the Romulans and the House of Durq.

One such warrior that fought by himself, his name is Molek. He is 25 years of age, graduated from the Imperial Academy with full honors and attained the rank of Imperial Marine Commander on the IKV SuvwI' batlh. Molek stands 6' 2" and weighs 220 lbs, light brown hair and sharp red eyes that had a piercing glance and yet he was friendly to all that knew him, ready to crack a joke off duty, he was quick to anger, one of the best warriors in the Klingon Empire even at such a young age.

He was running down a side street, with daq'tagh in his hand, his disrupter long ago lost it's charge and was lost as well, laying on the ground in some forgotten street where he came from. His target was a House of Durq Klingon who is kicking a native of the planet in the face.
The native being kicked in the face, his head snapped to the left, blood and his teeth flying out of his face. The native being severely injured from the attack falls on the ground where the Durq marine continues to kick him in the ribs, not noticing Molek until he was within 10 feet.

Molek then spoke, he was almost out of breath from the conflict in the city the non stop running. "You will die in cold blood, stain of dishonor from the pits of Grethor." As Molek was talking and running he drew his daq'tagh from the sheath and threw it with deadly accuracy at and into the Durq warrior's throat, killing him instantly. The Durq warrior screamed in his last death throws, shaking on the ground in an unknown street in the city of Arejun. Molek looked at the native, giving him a wide berth as he was one that had the disease afflicting those in the city. He pulled his daq'tagh out of the Durq's throat and cleaned the blade carefully before carefully placing it back in it's sheath. This daq'tagh was given to him by his father, the gift was an honorable one, one that he would never forget in the days before going to the academy. He then spoke to the dead Durq warrior. "I told you so maggot." He started laughing, enjoying the kill and one more part of his quest of vengeance complete, much like the rest of his ship that would cleanse the dishonor from the face of the Klingon Empire.

Molek left the scene of the battle he just faced and ran down the street calling out to the rest of the Imperial Marines trying to get some order out of chaos. He then heard the recall back to the ship. He then signaled the rest of the Imperial Marines into a defensive retreat back to the ship. He seen the rest of the Imperial Marines call out to the other ones and the order was being followed as they were withdrawing from the city. They soon would be back to the ship.

As Molek was heading out of the city and very glad to do so as the city was filled with the stench of the rotting natives. As he was heading back to the main road which had no name that he could understand, the buildings and other structures were falling apart from the many recent earthquakes that hit the planet on a regular basis. He was running at full speed by himself, he was hurrying to get out of here to make the 20 minute deadline issued in the recall.

In the shadows a Romulan was laughing to himself with his hand on the controls of a detonator device. He stood watching the lone Klingon running down the street, he waited patiently for the right time. He was hoping that the crude explosive device he made would have enough power to kill the slime that he hated so much. Molek was in range, he pressed the activation sequence, with a loud and spectacular explosion the bomb did indeed work.

Molek as said is a Klingon warrior, one born to instinctively know the look in another's eye when they were about to kill, when one was soon to meet his destiny in death. He felt death coming as the explosive device was activated. Flying shrapnel and flames reaching high above the top of the buildings and scorching the bricks and destroying most of the immediate vicinity of where the bomb was activated. When Molek had this feeling that he was about to die, he knew it was time to do all that he could to survive or die in the attempt. He ran to the next intersection barely in time and jumped forward around the corner, he was not quite in time as the explosive force still hit him and yet was not forceful enough to kill him. He was pushed in the momentum of the jump and the explosion some 20 feet into a pile of rubble.

He landed on the pile of rubble after the explosive force died down, the fires raged out of control inside the city. He was clear of the destructive force of the bomb just outside the city. Molek was stunned and could not move, his armor and most of his equipment destroyed that he carried. He looked up at the stars in the darkness, reality slowly fading out as he lost consciousness into the darkness of the night.

Chapter Two - Hurgh Hov III Central Command Interlude

In a structure located about 78 miles northwest of the city Arejun was the Hurgh Hov III Central Command Head Quarters. This structure was a large and imposing compound, a military installation staffed mostly by Romulans. A large modern tower stood tall against the night on Hurgh Hov III, this structure was something odd, evil and sinister looking against the terrain of the planet. This building stood 10 stories tall with many windows well suited for defense should the need arise against the natives, treachery from the House of Durq, or any other threats. Next to this tall tower was five other three story buildings housing barracks for the troops, the buildings were placed in circle position around the tall building and providing enough room between all the structures for a defense and ready supply of troops should the need arise. To the North and still very much near the other building was another building and a landing padd with a Romulan scout vessel sitting there, ready for launch at anytime.

Inside the central tower a meeting was going on between several Romulan officials discussing the current events and the plans that they would make concerning recent events. What floor or room this was taking place would not be discussed nor relayed into official documentation. The alliance between the House of Durq and the Romulan Star Empire was not known publicly nor officially sanctioned by the Romulan Star Empire or the House of Durq.

This conference room was large with a short curved table against against the back wall that was for the top officials of the Romulan Star Empire assigned to this planet and research project. Five other smaller rectangle tables were set up facing this table, with 4 chairs for each one. This room was spartan compared to normal Romulan fashion and was not meant for ceremony or to be comfortable.

Four Romulans of high rank were in this conference room sitting at the main table and about to engage in a discussion about the current events that have been happening on this planet. The atmosphere was tense and themed with paranoia and intense concentration in the moment before anyone spoke, they waited for Commander Karina to speak.

Commander Karina sat at the center position at the main table along with the rest of the 3 sub commanders in attendance. Commander Karina stood tall for the average Romulan woman and wore her uniform proudly, she was once a diplomat and served in many functions during the time of the Dominion war. She decided to enter the military to further her houses position in the senate and her own personal power as well. She had piercing eyes that seemed to evaluate everything that she looked at or spoken to in once glance as she carefully weighed out what she was going to say before even speaking. The moment was tense as she spoke after long moments.

"As you well know the situation is looking rather bleak for our position here on this Klingon named planet. We have lost a good deal of manpower, equipment and territory here namely the city of Arejun. The planetary cloaking device is still not operating correctly halting our progress in this project. The disease that we decided to test is waging out of control, killing most of the slaves that we need for the dilithium mining and other menial tasks. However, one item of particular interest is puzzling me, if the Klingon ship the IKV SuvwI' batlh was so sure in it's position here, why did the ship issue a recall and evacuation of the city of Arejun. Not to mention leaving the Hurgh Hov system completely, leaving for unknown coordinates, our friends are looking into this even as I speak. I made the communication yesterday and should expect a response as soon as they find out anything of value."

She continued to speak after a short pause. "Sub commander Ruwon, send in a request to the ships we have patrolling the sector to reform formations and meet here at the planets coordinates. Expect a joint Federation/Klingon alliance fleet to arrive here shortly, since the IKV SuvwI' batlh is stationed at Starbase 141 from the last reports."

Sub Commander Ruwon was an old friend of Commander Karina and followed much of the same career as she did and decided to give his loyalties to her. His house was swiftly growing into power and he knew that his house would be elevated making the right choices as he thought he did at this time. Unlike many he did not want to be at the top position and carefully bided his time elevating his houses power and position. "Indeed these preparations shall be made with precision and in a timely manner my commander. I would consider these things carefully. I would request that commander Ti'rak and his fleet be sent here because they do have the most powerful ships at our disposal currently and happen to be near this area of space. In fact they could be here within two weeks." He had other reasons for making this request, he figured that a few things could happen. Ti'rak's house is one of Ruwon's house rivals indirectly and posed a threat in the long run. He reasoned that if this fleet were destroyed, this house would be crippled in resources for some time to come and would not make a recovery in his lifetime. If the fleet were successful in destroying the joint Klingon/Federtion fleet Ti'rak's house would be dishonored for going to war in a unsanctioned attack violating treaty. Of course many details would be withheld from him.

Commander Karina looked at him for a moment considering this, what he said was right. However she did not have her position by following suggestions all the time. "I will consider this suggestion for the moment. Meanwhile we have other things to discuss" She turned to the others, D'Tan and Kimera Cretak. "We need to sweep the surrounding city of Arejun and make sure all surviving members of the ship IKV SuvwI' batlh have been cleaned up and disposed of properly."

Both D'Tan and Kimara nodded to her and begun to add notes to their padds to make the proper plans to do so. Karina spoke again this time her face stern, cold and devoid of emotion. "We are now going to start on Operation Cleansing Storm, we will begin quarantining the native population starting with the city of Arejun. I have sent to each of you a plan describing exactly what to do." The plan operation was clearly a plan one most horrendous, killing all that were afflicted with the disease and destroying anything that was in contact with the disease including the city by burning it to the ground.

D'Tan was a short Romulan standing 5'8", he was once a friend of ambassador Spock when he visited Romulus when D'Tan was a child. D'Tan was influence and impressed by Spock's vision of logic, control of self, and decent living. D'Tan carried this with him for all of his life and including now. He decided to speak and yet was careful not to reveal himself or his later position that he hoped to achieve one day. "Clearly this is a radical plan of eradicating the disease when I think there could possibly be another way. In fact I have made sure that this disease is being worked on night and day around the clock. Consider it this way, the population of the planet has never been more than one million when we got here and is now dipping below the 500,000 count. Surely this is a loss of resources that we can ill afford commander."

Commander Karina looked at him and indeed suspected him of something, as of yet she could not determine what his objectives could be. "I clearly hear your concerns Sub Commander, however I have determined a solution to this. I am ordering the doctors killed, the work saved in a detailed manner. We will bring in some more doctors within the week. This way we will have a new prospective on this problem should it get out of control again."

D'Tan considered this and controlled his anger with hardly no emotion on his face while he made the adjustments to his padd adding notes about this order. He remembered the training he had received from Spock long ago and this served him well.

Kimara Cretak sat at the table being silent and taking notes. She did not say anything at this time, nor to involve herself in the current politics of this meeting. She was sent to this place in exile and knew her days were numbered. She did her job like the fated to die biding her time and emotionless as well, feeling betrayed along with her entire house.

Commander Karina stood up suddenly and abruptly and spoke. "You all have you orders, I am expecting results and reports as soon as the orders are carried out. We have no time or room to make mistakes and I shall expect efficiency. This meeting is over with immediately." The others stood up from the table walking out without another word.
