I have a copy of the Klingon dictionary and I am currently learning Klingon. So are my dogs. Smiley

My question is this. Im trying to teach my dogs some baisc commands like - sit, out, no, down and right down. There doesnt seem to be the word "down" in the dictionary. How would I give the command "right down" to my dogs?

Cheers

The Klingon noun bIng area below, area beneath might help, depending on what "right down" actually means. How does it differ from "down"? (I just asked an innocent bystander if they understood it, and the answer of "Like, take notes?" confused me for a moment.)

LOL. Well if I say "sit" to my dogs they sit. Everyone understands this right? He has his butt on the ground with his front legs straight. If I say "down" he will put his belly on the ground with his head up. If I say "right down" he will put his head on the ground also.

So "down" and "right down" are 2 different things. I guess the command "down" is a less formal command to "right down"

I came up with the following and its probably wrong, considering my knowledge of Klingon.

'uy is a verb - press down
nach is a noun for head

So I would think 'uynach

Let me know where Im going wrong

Cheers

*'uynach is wrong for a couple of reasons. Most important is the fact that you can't combine a verb and a noun into a single word. In addition, Klingon word order puts the subject after the verb, so 'uy nach is the head presses [something unspecified] down. I think nach 'uy press the head down would be better.

Consider Qot lie down, and Qotchu' lie down completely.

One of the Klingon conversational tapes uses lItHa' specifically to order a pet to get down from something.

Some possible commands:
lItHa' "down!"
ba' "sit!"
Qot "lie down!"
loS "stay!" (literally "wait")
yoy "roll over!" (literally "upside down")
tlha' "heel!" (literally "follow")

I'm using clipped klingon in each case, so I don't need to add the imperative prefix.
