Does anyone want help out a trio of Illinois sociologists by participating in an anonymous online Trek survey? One of the stated goals is to “Create a accurate picture of fans, instead of media generated stereotypes,” which in my opinion is a worthy endeavor. (At least the perpetrators are more pure of heart than the producers of "Trekkies"....)

Details, including contact information, can be found here.

Of course, it's interesting that the people most likely to see this are active online Trekkies, so that in of itself skews the results.

Great now I need to read a Trek comic book, write a trek fic, get an autograph from a Trek actor, and help to create a Trek fan film.  Cheesy Klingon Grin   Hey Tilk, need help?

Pretty straight forward survey, though I am not sure that it really has much potential to offer any more than Marketing kinds of results... Hardly a clearer picture of fandom...

The survey author said the results of the survey would be available via email during the month of Dec., and I wrote in to get them the third week of December. It is now halfway through January, and I still haven't heard back. Naughty researchers. }}>:-(

I think they just want to see if some Trekkies are actually married. Which means we would be "getting jiggy" w/ somebody other than themselves. cool
