From time to time, I've been asked to help with various projects and advertising related to Star Trek.  Below is one of those requests. Please pass it along to people you know who might be interested. I believe this information is correct but please tell anyone who is interested to verify the information and scheduling.

The Martin Casting company is having an open casting call this Friday in LA to look for "authentic Klingons" to appear in a commercial.  It is a unique opportunity to appear on television as a Klingon and get paid.

I Had not even looked at the date, knowing that LA was out of the question... That is a little odd though that this would show up so last minute...

I was contacted late. It was give it a shot anyway, hoping at least one of our Klingon brothers and sisters could make it or do nothing. Obviously, nothing was not an option for "tlhIngan maH!"

I don't know if she will add another day for the casting call. I have recommended more lead time in the future ,if possible, to get the word out.

It is good that you responded, and in particular with the information pertaining to the last minute nature of the Call... That said, it seems that there are a couple of folks in Southern California... So more time in the future could mean some attendance...

It is good to read you too. TE has been down for too long.

This kind of last minute notice is not unusual for commercials. My daughters are just getting into this and last minute notice seems to be the norm.

I would like to hear from other SoCal Klingons, though. STAND UP AND SOUND OFF!

Short notice is also not all that unusual for promotional events. I once got less than 24 hours notice for a Trek themed Costume Contest. I was able to get 3 Klingons together for that. Collectively we took 1st & 2nd Prizes. The contest was cosponsored by Paramount and Playmates Toys. Which makes me feel old, knowing it was for the release of the first TNG figures, and toys.
