alright, at the moment we are recruiting, so nothing really major happens yet. but in general, who wants to do the GM and who has some suggestion for major stories? i would suggest, that whomever comes up wiht an idea does then the mainpart with the GM together or is the GM for that time, while consulting the GM regarding the implementation.

I would actually like to see if we can dispense with the whole GM idea and just make a collaborative story... The person to keep the overview would be the Captain/Commander, but in general if you want to include a character in your post, contact that character's player by PM...

in general it is a good idea this collaborative story, but in each rpg from time to time you need something bigger to involve everybody. the last thing i  was playing was an invasion force of an race a bit superior to the klingons and their slaves the insects (from star ship troopers Smiley)

It is possible to have someone write the "seed" for such a story and OOC warn everyone that this is a "project" of sorts that everyone is requested to participate in... IMO.

I think a GM on a forum is more like a moderator, For when someone's breaking the agreements or, as I have done on the forum in the past, use tlhIngan Hol and not provide a translation...
For special quests or campaigns, a OOC heads-up by the writer of the starting story should suffice.

alright, smallish or funny encounter, which are thought through by one player, please contact the counterpart via pn and tell him/her what you want.

this is going to be not storywise, everybody plays his char and/or a NPC where fit. Action/Reactionwise. To avoid playing all with/by him/herself, the counterpart should know about the story.

I never came across an incident where the counterpart didn't play along, okay one exception, when I had to kill sombody after some really bad insults, but that was agreed with the counterpart as well.

While the freeform story can work well, a GM to guide the story along towards a potentially undecided conclusion would be helpful. In this sort of thing, it might just be by adding scenes that move the action to the right areas.

The GM, will always then come into action, when there is na need of a major story, meaning if the life on the station gets dull. As the GM will be one selected person, everybody can suggest a storyline, which will then be worked on in partnership with the gamemaster.
