My name is Elnijo, I live in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney in Australia.
I have studied Ninjitsu for 6 years, however I no longer am a member of a dojo as there are none close by to where I live. I am a StarTrek fan and am fascinated in all things Klingon. I have made my own throwing stars (very rough) and practice with them regularly. I am passionate about throwning knives.

I also play an online game called mech warrior 4 mercenaries. This is not just an online game but a well established community from all around the world. This community consists of many "clans" who compete against each other in tournament matches etc. Recently Micrsoft has announced that they will no longer be supporting the online aspect of this game. This news has sent shock waves through our community and as a result of this news I have setup a website to keep the game alive. This website www.hpgrelay.com helps players to direct connect to servers via IP postings. I have also setup a voice communications network for all clans. These voice comms are hosted  on my server.  It also has a list of all the active clans within our community and much more.
The clan I am a member of is called StarFleet. StarFleet is a reasonably young clan compared to others and our numbers are still small but are working on growing those numbers. There are other groups within this community that are also working on alternatives to Microsoft.
Within this community I am known as Tasha Yar and as the name suggests I am the Security Officer of StarFleet.

Recently I have been looking to purchase a bat'leth and have been searching for the "right" one, however I have not been able to find one that will make me happy. I have been searching the web and have found a few sites that encourage people interested to make their own blade.
I am a great beleiver in putting ones "energy" into a weapon and feel the way to acheive this is to make it from scratch. I dont want to simply hang it on a wall for show. I want to learn the art of weilding it also. I have done some sword training and know the basics and am keen to learn how to build and use the Bat'leth.

I have recently found a book called Secrect fighting arts of the warrior race that was ordered distroyed by paramount. I have ordered a copy of this book of bat'leth katas and am waiting for it to arrive.

I am very happy to be here and hope that in time I can contribute to these forums as much as (i am sure) i will get out of them.

Cheers

The ninjas forte is espionage and assassination, by any means possible.  Ninjas were usually trained from childhood and continued learning the art of Ninjitsu from birth.  Soon, even the elite Samurai class began to fear the Ninja for their notorious skills.  Ninjitsu was practiced in great secrecy.  Upon the arrival of Modern Japan, the Ninjitsu class was absorbed into Japan's Secret Service arm of the government.  The art of Ninjitsu was later brought to the western world during the 1970's because of the work of Doron Navon and Stephen Hayes.  They found a Ninjitsu headmaster living in Japan who was willing to train them.

The art of Ninjitsu is also known as "ninpo".  Ninpo is a traditional Japanese bujutsu martial art that goes bcack for tens of centuries.  It was developed as a counter culture art to the Samurai Warrior Class and was considered to be anti-government and illegal.  Ninpo continues to be practiced today unter the tutelage of Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi, 34th Grandmaster of the Togakure Ryu Ninjitsu Tradition.  Dr. Hatsumi is considered to be the last variable true Ninja Grandmaster having a direct line of decent going back to Feudal Japan.

The art of Ninjitsu has no bounds.   Their direct aim is assassination and espionage.  They use many stealth and killer tactics including ninja stars, throwing knives, smoke bombs, poisons, darts, bow and arrows, karate, wrestling and guerilla warfare tactics.  Ninjitsu is best known for their black uniforms and shurikens.

I chose ninjitsu because rather than relying on strength similar to that of karate, its focus is on grapling (taijitsu)and the momentum of your movements. In Karate if your opponent is of the same level and much larger, then it is unlikely (unless your opponent errors) that the lighter person will prevail.

Female ninjas are on the same level as the males in this art unlike any other matial arts in the world.

hmm i heard a bit different, once they were all that what you have said and more, but of today, i doubt that this is the main purpose of ninjutsu.

I find it interesting, that down in autralia they teach the dart, poison, bow and arrow, smoke bomb and guerillia warfare tactics parts of the schools.

They dont teach such things here in Australia, I was merely giving some history info on the art is all. I was a member of an unlisted dojo here in Aus. This dojo was run by 3 black belts that decided to teach the art the way they beleived it should be. Their teachings went beyond what you would expect in a registered dojo. ie full contact sparing, throwing knife and star use etc. But definately no terrorist type activities in any way. I paid someone to beat me up every day!!

Guerrilla warfare??
Guerrilla warfare has been employed on innumerable occasions throughout history in different circumstances, to achieve different aims.  Of late it has been used in various people's wars of liberation when the vanguard of the people chose the path of irregular armed struggle against enemies of greater military power.  Asia, Africa and America have been the scene of such actions when trying to attain power in the struggle against feudal, neo-colonial or colonial exploitation.  In Europe, guerrilla warfare was used as supplementary to their own or allied regular armies.
Guerrilla warfare has been waged many times in America.  As a case in point closer to home the experience of Augusto César Sandino fighting against the Yankee expeditionary force on the banks of the Segovia in Nicaragua can be noted, and recently Cuba's revolutionary war.  Since then in America the problems of guerrilla warfare have become a question for theoretical discussions for the continent's progressive parties, and whether it is possible or expedient to use it, has become the subject of head-on controversial discussions.
Guerrilla warfare is NO more sinister than war itself...

Thankyou for the link my friend

You really should have a chat with X'na who is also a martial arts expert and teaches it in Canada.
