Great.  Now I have something else to envy Kehlan for.   First she has all the good chocolate, now she shmoozes with the last two Chancellors.   I had a chance to meet four of the original TOS crew, and wouldn't you know it I got violently ill and couldn't go.  Oh well.  Maybe one day I will be able to hang out with the crazyiest Klingons, I mean besides myself.

Klythe, you should come over to England for the Starfleet Ball next year.  I have been given a hint by the organisers that it will be a good event for Klingons.  Oh yes, for another incentive - we have good chocolate over here!!!

I have met several other actors from Trek, including Michael Dorn, who disappointed me, Patrick Stewart, Jonathon Frakes and from TOS, Walter Koenig, who is very nice and Nichelle Nicholls who is also nice and very beautiful.  If I look half as good as her at half her age I will be happy!

When is it?   Getting out to England of course isn't easy, but with enough planning we might be able to get a few KIF members and have a little meetup...

It is usually the weekend before Valentines day - its starts on the Friday and finishes on the sunday night (late.)  The next one is 9-11 February 2007.

website is www.sfball.com

The convention hotel is already full - has been since the weekend of the previous con but there are literally hundreds of hotels in bournemouth, reasonably priced (by british standards anyway, I know you Americans finds it expensive over here) and I am happy to help people find one nearby.
I have been told that British cons are very different to American one as they are smaller and more relaxed. (havent been to an American one so am only repeating what I have been told.)

Whatever, the ball is good fun.  I should mention that it has a theme for the Saturday party each year and the next one is Highwaymen, but its not necessary to go with the theme unless you want to and alot of us prefer to wear our Trek outfits.

hope to see you there

Actually that sound's bigger and more busy than [some of the conventions I go to, like Anglicon.   That's a little close to FURther CONfusion, a convention I look forward to meetup with people...   But I'll see what I can do.

I guess I've just found myself another holiday...
I'm soooo in the mood to finally get some new British Klingons in my "network"...
Most of the current ones are German (well, with being part of a 200-Klingon club, that's not hard...)

I met up with the organiser of the Ball last week and she told me that  if we are doing Klingon at the Ball, we will be very, very pleased.
Take that to mean what you will...

Just a quick update for anyone who may be considering attending. We will be staying at a very nice little hotel two minutes walk from the convention, called the Watergarden Hotel.  Its cheap (by British standards), with no single supplements and the hotel is Trek friendly.

I've just got back from the convention and am still recovering.  So much happened I really don't know where to start telling you about it.  there was a huge lineup of guests but the highlight for me was JG Hertzler (Martok) Bob Reilly (Gowron) and Barbara March (Lursa)

Anyway, the highlight was very definitely when all the Klingons were called up on stage to provide the backing group for the chancellors when they did the Klingon rap - even Barbara March was there among us, clapping and stamping with the rest of us.

And to see Martok dancing the time warp....!!!

I have a couple of photos to share and more will appear when I get them from my friends...

That sounds like a fantastic con. I wish I could have been there. Thanks for posting links to your pictures! They're great! Especially the one of the two chancellors posing as their Terran ancestresses...  *drifts off into a Monty Python flashback*
