Jennifer OConner left the ship she came with and saw a familiar looking Klingon from behind leaving. Well maybe later she would find out who he was. There were more inportant things to do.

qoSagh steps through the airlock, amid other Klingons. He had slept most of the trip and did not get to know many of them. All in good time he though to himself. I should see to my belongings and report for duty. As he turned and looked out an observation port, he realized it was good to be home. In as much as one born in space, could ever be home. It was good to feel metal under his boots and not soil, good to see the everlasting night sky in all three directions, or at least to know it was there, just beyond the hull.

----NPC-------

Klingon Guard:

KoraS had him ordered to stand guard at the docking area and to check for IDs. He didn't like it that part of his job in particular, but an order was an order.

ID Pass, he said to the first klingon in line (qoSagh).

qoSagh took his ID chip out and handed it to the guard for a quick scan. The guard scanned it and handed it back, trying not to seem disappointed that no one today had come up as a security alert.

qoSagh noticed the guards expression and thought to himself: I hope his boredom turns to something else, for both our sakes. It would not be all that rewarding to be on the only quiet station along the frontier.

Several days after the arrival of qoSagh on the station, the USS Endeavour came into port and as they did regularly, many of the crew went onto the station - some on duty matters, others just to relax.

The guard, the same one that had been stuck with this duty for the last week continued with the monotony of checking passes and ID.  The boredom was broken for a moment though when an attractive looking Klingon woman, dressed in the red and black uniform of a Starfleet commander came through.  "Identification" the guard demanded.
The woman handed over her ID.  "I am Commander Mara vestai Inigan" she told him.
The guard hesitated.  She looked Klingon, the name she gave was Klingon, but she spoke the language with a strong Terran accent.  Thlingan Hol was obviously not her native language.  He checked the ID she had given him.  The picture agreed, but the name was different - Commander Mara Bradfield.
Finally the guard had something to do, something other than the same old routine.  He blocked the woman's way,and grabbed her arm, preventing her from passing into the station.
Mara struggled for a moment to free herself but the guard was bigger and stronger than she was and realising that he was actually enjoying her struggle, she desisted.  "What's the problem?" she asked him.
"You will have to come with me" he told her, still not releasing her arm.  Suddenly someone grabbed hold of the guard and slammed him against the bulkhead.  The guard blinked, seeing stars and as his vision cleared, he looked at his assailant.  And blinked again in surprise at another Klingon woman, identical to the first, and in the same red and black uniform.  This one though was all Klingon in her attitude and fighting skill.  And when she spoke her accent was was pure Klingon.  "I am Kehlan vestai Inigan" she told him with a growl, "Captain of the Endeavour.  Now, what is the problem?"
The guard, confused and worried now, wishing for the peaceful boredom of only a few minutes ago, tried to explain.  "The ID is invalid.  I cannot allow her..."
The woman who had introduced herself as the Endeavour's captain interrupted him, a note in her voice warnign that she would be dangerous when angry.  "Then get the security chief down here.  RIGHT NOW!"

----NPC-------

Klingon Guard:

His confusion was transient. Sisters.  the guard straightened himself and repeated his words.
The ID is invalid, in order to enter the station she will need a valid one. Your ship can order on from the Security. Until then she must leave or stay in cusody. He was a bit angry, that this captain had been able to surprise him, so he added. There is no way arround and for this i won't get my boss down here. Now move aside woman, there are people with valid ID who want to enter.

He was now angry and alert, something like this wouldn't happen again.

Kehlan grabbed hold of the surprised guard and slammed him up against the wall, a knife that he hadn't even noticed, suddenly at his throat.
"Are you disobeying a direct order from a superior officer?" Kehlan asked. "The ID was issued by the security chief, if it is invalid then the problem lies with him"
With a growl of disgust, she released him, shoving him away from her.  So, do as you are told and get your boss down here NOW!"

----NPC-------

Klingon Guard:

He growled at the woman in front of him, who again had surprised him, he really should ask for some more security training.

Still he did treat the knife as what it was, a threat and reacted accordingly. As long as the knife was still losse at his throat and he had his hands free, his hand wend unseen from his opponent to his dagger. He pulled it and now they were even, his dagger pointing to her heart, pinching her slightly, so she knew and her dagger on his throat. He began to wonder cause he actually began to enjoy this encounter. Still able to speak, he answered her.

So now we can talk, can't we? Wou know that if you kill me i still have enough time to take you with me. You may are a high ranking captain but only on that federation star ship not on this station. If this ID is issued from your Chief of Security, then call him, but on this station it is invalid as the names don't match. So what do you want to do now? Kill an officer only doing his duty or reconsider and get yourself a bloody valid ID?   he diddn't grin, but he wasn't angry anymore, only alert to the situation.

"Firstly,I hold my rank in both Klingon and Federation fleets" Kehlan snapped.  "Secondly, it was your security that issued the ID, not mine.  If you look at the ID again you'll see KoraS's signature on it."  Then the guards words registered and she stepped back a little, asking "Is that what all the fuss is about?  That the names don't match?"

----NPC-------

Klingon Guard:

Felling the knife getting of his throat he lowered his dagger as well. yes that is what it is all about. I was going to escort her to the Security office in the docking area, to check it out and if neccessary to get her a valid pass. That was before i was attacked for no reason whatsoever by you, woman. he snapped back refused to acknowledge her rank, as he only saw federation pins and uniform. Can I now finish or do I need your permission "Captain". He nearly growled the last word at the woman in front of him.

Mara shook her head in disgust as she watched her twin scuffle with the security guard.  She didn't need her sister's protection.  If she was ever going to learn what it was to be Klingon, she was going to have to do it on her own.

She couldn't help thinking that both of them were enjoying the confrontation, but it was rapidly getting out of hand.

Sighing, she activated her communicator.  "Mara to commander KoraS" she called, "It might be a good idea if you come down to the docking bay before my sister exceeds her authority and kills your guard."

Koras entered the docking area immediatly saw his guard against the wall, a woman in front. An nearly identical twin was next to her. He assumed it was Mara. For him it looked more like her sister flirting with his guard, than actually wanting to kill him. He entered the Szene and spoke towards that federation captain.

If you want to date my guard you have to wait till he is free, now what is this all about. he required to know a bit amoused.

Mara had to struggle not to laugh at the embarrassment on her sister's face as she and the guard broke away from each other.  She had also seen what Kehlan had not.  A Terran male wearing a Starfleet Admiral's uniform - Kehlan's husband - had just boarded the station.
He approached Kehlan and slipped an arm around her waist.  Startled by his appearance, she bared her teeth at him, growling under her breath.
"Come back to our quarters and you can growl as much as you like, woman" he invited, a teasing note in his voice.
Kehlan glanced over at her sister and started to speak, but the admiral interrupted her.  "Your sister is as capable of dealing with this as you are" he told her, "now come with me - or do I have to make it an order?"
Mara was unable to stifle her giggles as Kehlan turned and followed her husband back on board the Endeavour.  Finally left alone with the guard and the station security chief, she was relieved to see that they appeared equally amused by the situation.
"I think we had better again again" she said, "I am Commander Mara Badfield if you want my Terran name.  But to the Klingons I am known as Mara vestai Inigan.  I am the new chief of operations on this station."

Koras raised a brow in amusement to the situation. Alright Mara vestai Inigan, he prefered the klingon name, what was this all about, he asked, still amused and a bit surpirised about the situation and the admiral.

As commander Koras walked away, Mara followed him, glancing curiously around her as she did so.  The station was enormous but it was not far to the Security Office and took them only a minute to get there.  She was looking forward to exploring the station and to getting on with her new job.  First though, she had to deal with this security problem.

Entering the office behind the commander, Mara stood quietly as he moved over to his desk.  She said nothing.  Commander Koras would ask her if he wanted to know anything.

While KoraS and Mara walk away, and as the Klingon guard looked down to sheath his blade:
“Good!  Nothing like a little knife fight to brighten the day!  What unlikely PetaQ is next?

He holds his hand out without looking up.

And nothing happens.  There are shuffling sounds as people in line change position slightly, waiting their turn.

Moving his focus from the Computer terminal in front of him, he looks up, and disapproving, says:
“Well, old man!  You may be as old as my vavnI, but you still have to pass my security station!  ID!!!!”

The man stands there with a very unimpressed look on his face.

Security Guard: “Look here, Grandfather, you’re a mess, your clothes and kit are worn and patched, and you’re of an age that says you are no warrior – ‘Only the Brave die young!’  You are beneath my station, and beneath my contempt.  So don’t waste my time!  ID!!!!”

People in the line are beginning to murmur, as the guard is losing his patience and becoming ruder and ruder.

The old man finally passes a hand into the wrinkled cloth of his traveling clothes, and pulls out a worn and well-used Imperial ID.  The guard snatches it impatiently from his hand, and inserts it in his console for the split second necessary to verify the information.

“Good, finally.  Let’s see.  Yes, your ID is in proper order, your face and name matches …  Qintal, of the house of B’voq, good, good.  From a colony world.  A ‘colony world!’  Hah!  Bumpkin!”

The guard viciously laughs aloud, holding up the ID, but no one joins him:
“You are from ‘Ichwi’ Marlwhen???  From that effeminate, hot weather planet?  Fit only for those Federation playboys, I’d say!  Maybe you can borrow their water skies!  What do you wear there, those ‘HavvaIan shirts’?  Maybe you have some even now in your kit!”

Qintal stands there, clenching and unclenching his fists.

A discreet circle has moved away from him and the guard.  Two warriors at the back of the line are actively taking bets on whether another fight breaks out, and who would win this time:

“I’ll take the guard – he’s spoiling to win a fight by now.”

“Yes, see how he eggs the old man on!”

“And he’s much younger!”

“Look at the old man’s leg! He limps badly.”

“Yes, a serious weakness in a fight.”

But another shakes his head:  “Yes. But … I don’t know…  There’s something about this one, this ‘vavnI’.  I just feel it wouldn’t be wise to go up against him.  He’s like a pot, and one about to boil over.”

But old Qintal just quickly reaches over to retrieve his ID, and the guard moves to keep it from him.  Qintal’s hand warps around he guards’ wrist.

Guard:  “Not so fast, old … Hey!  Get your hands …  AHHHHH!!!!”

People at the back of the line:  “You lose!  NO fight!  It’s over before it began!”

“He’s just holding his wrist though!  How would that hurt so much?”

“Yes, but he’s bending it back, twisting it away!  If the guard doesn’t drop that ID, his arm will break!”

Guard:  “Enough!  Here!”

And he drops the Identity card, thinking to make Qintal bow for it, and pick it off the floor.

Crowd:  “Did you see that?  He caught it!  He caught it!”

“So quick!”

“And he caught it with the same hand that had been on the guards wrist!!!”

And with his card safely in his hand, Qintal reaches back for his bag, and strides away, limping.

And the guard, unbalanced now by the sudden loss of pressure, falls forward badly on his face.  There is a sickening crack, and all know he’ll be in sickbay within minutes.

Klingon Guard2 :

he looked at his colleague and shake his head. He would have done the same. In his past he has had an similar encounter on qo'nos and after that he was more carefull not to judge by appearance. Dismissing the incident as an bad experience for an young and inexperienced officer (although he knew KoraS would hear of it) he went back to work.

Next. ID he ordered the next person in line.
