Two questions, one of which may have been answered already.

First, are there any rules for creating NPC's (like the Security Guard) or can we do that as is needed?

Second, as for new areas of the ship, can we create them as needed? I would think the Promenade would have more in it, although not as much as a human station. There should probably also be a Bridge/Command Center and a main engineering area. With the areas now in play, there isn't much for my character to do. I don't ride animals, am not sick, and really the less time spent in central security, the better.

That which does not kill me, must have missed me.

Go ahead to create both as needed, but try to keep “as needed” to a minimum. On the one paw I want to give every character a chance to perform to their best advantage, and and as you point out there are not many opportunities for your character at present. On the other paw, I don’t want to end up a lot of short-and-orphaned threads or left-hanging NPCs.

in the beginning it was thought, that the areas are created as needed, now that there are not too much player involved. later with the development of the whole RPG, there would be a structure to it.

I am trying to get a friend into playing in this RPG, he is somewhat of a master at NPC's and keeping them and their plots straight. But other than that, I will get to posting hopefully later on tonight..
