Interesting... I wish I could see a better picture of these... Not sure how I like the look, but I have to give them credit for having the intestinal fortitude openly advertise...
Nice find...

And they are the split toe boots as well, that little bit of foot-trivia seems to have gone by the wayside. Although I always thought it was just some kind of weird joke that the costume designers put in, like the (TV Show) Zaphod Beeblebrox's two fly pants. Now if this was years ago, when there were more cons in my area and funding wasn't as much of an issue, I would snap those up in a heartbeat.

Folks,
How about starting from a pair of Ninjutsu boots - split-toe, close in the back - and replacing the spat area with a Klingon version, thigh-high and well, Klingon? Then you can attach the metal trim - perhaps someone can figure a way to make a segmented metal sole tha would actually work? It's possible people familiar with mountaineering equipment might give some ideas based on the ice "claws" one can attach to boots.
Then you'll have boots that are actually functional and, since Ninjutsu boots are made of fabric instead of leather, breathable. For winter, again mountaineering and hunting/fishing people can suggest treatments, or perhaps you can convince someone to make you a leather pair?...
You can begin to search for "tabi boots", as they are called. Please check quality with Bujinkan practitioners, in person or online.

One of my friends has bought a pair of Klingon boots from hightower and they are very high quality, they are the nest I have seen anywhere. If you want, I can ask him for some detailed pics of the boots.
Pricewise they seem reasonable. In the UK, a pair of leather woman's knee high boots can cost around £100 - £150 off the shelf so getting them custom made for £200 is not as bad as it seems. Having said that,. I still can't afford them myself, but maybe oneday....

At $396 the price is high, but I agree still reasonable for what they are. The boots I currently wear will be in need of some repair work soon, since I only use them for Klingon and some Ren Fair stuff, I may see about having the spikes attached permanently during the repair. I have a pair of boot spikes that I never used, so it would be easy enough to do.
