Below is the timeline as presented by the Star Trek Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton. (Years 2372 ~ 2373 have been updated using information provided by the honorable J'Maq).

Based on the TV series movie series, it begins with Kahless uniting the Empire, and ends with Gowron's withdrawal from the Khitomer Accords. We will need to fill in other pertinent events in the Empire's history.

Note on the transcribing: I am amazed that there were so many grammar errors in such a public display. You would think that Paraborg would have a few Vulcans on staff to handle the proofreading. I have made corrections to the best of my ability (it is hard when Federation Standard is my second language to tlhIngan Hol).

Klingons

This humanoid warrior race is proud, tradition-bound and honorable. Their aggressive culture has made them a military power to be respected and feared. In Klingon society, the death of a warrior is not mourned, especially a warrior who has died honorably, as in battle or in the line of duty. The Klingon Empire was founded some 1,500 years ago by Kahless the Unforgettable, who first united the Klingon people by killing the tyrant Molar with the first batleth, or sword of honor. This mythic-historic tale is a cornerstone of Klingon mythology and religion.

The Klingon Homeworld

The central planet of the Klingon Empire is rarely referred to by its formal name, Qo’noS.  Homeworld, the common name for the planet, is a large, green, class-M world. The Klingon High Council, the ruling body of the Klingon Empire, is based in First City, on the planet’s surface. Composed of about two dozen members, the council meets in the Great Hall.

c.600:   Kahless the Unforgettable unites the Empire.

1372:   The Hur’q invade the Klingon Homeworld and steal the Sword of Kahless.

2056:   The monastery of Boreth is established on the planet of Boreth, in orbit around the star which Kahless the Unforgettable indicated at the time of his departure from Qo’noS as “that point of light” [where the people should look for him]. It is there that generations of Klingon clerics and other Klingon faithful await Kahless’ return from Sto-Vo-Kor, the Klingon afterlife.

2069:   Klingon Emperor dies, but no successor ascends the throne.

2218:   First Empire contact with the Federation, resulting in immediate hostilities. A policy of mutual surveillance was immediately implemented by both great powers.

2242:   Battle of Donatu V.

2265: The D7-class Klingon Battle Cruiser enters into service as a ship of the line for the Empire. Shortly thereafter, in 2268, its design is shared, along with other military technology with the Romulan Star Empire at the onset of a brief mutual alliance.

2267:   Diplomatic negotiations between the Klingon Empire and the United Federation of Planets collapse. The onset of a much anticipated glorious war is immediately halted when the “Organian Peace Treaty” is imposed by the super powerful non-corporeal beings masquerading as docile inhabitants of the planet Organia. Later the same year, Sherman’s Planet becomes a further object of contention between the Empire and UFP, and was lost despite all best efforts to thwart Federation claims, largely due to the unfortunate circumstantial interference of a life-form known among local space travelers as tribbles. Klingon diplomatic representative General Koord is sent by the Empire to the planet Nimbus III in 2267, as part of a joint Klingon/Romulan/Federation venture to establish “The Planet of Galactic Peace.”

2268:   The Klingon Empire and the Romulan Star Empire form a tactical alliance. This pact lasts until approximately 2292, somewhat prior to the disastrous Romulan/Federation “Tomed Incident”, when the Romulan Star Empire adopted a totally isolationist policy toward all outside star systems. Klingon Battle Cruiser officers and crew seize control of the Federation starship U.S.S. Enterprise in 2268, but when it is discovered that hostilities are being artificially induced between both onboard factions by a parasitic alien life form, a temporary truce is struck between Klingon and Federation crews to defeat their mutual foe. This marks the first such cooperative endeavor between the great powers.

2269:   Kahless the Unforgettable’s image is replicated by the inhabitants of the planet Excalbia, as part of an inquiry by the morally curious Excalbians into the nature of “good and evil.” Kahless is mistakenly defined as “evil” by Excalbian leader Yarnek.

2287:    Klingon diplomatic representative General Koord, once a distinguished office in the Klingon Defense Force (whose military strategies are academically renown), is kidnapped from Nimbus III (aka “The Planet of Galactic Peace”) by renegade Vulcan Sybok. Although long held in disfavor by the Klingon High Command, Koord’s subsequent role in preventing the destruction of Federation starship U.S.S. Enterprise by the self-motivated young Klingon captain Klaa marked a further step toward the betterment of Klingon/Federation ties.

2290:   Klingon sleeper ship T’Ong, commanded by Captain K’Temoc, is launched on a long-term exploratory mission. The vessel is subsequently encountered by Klingon and Federation allies in 2356.

The 24-year alliance between the Klingon Empire and the Romulan Star Empire collapses, marking the onset of intense hostilities and political intrigue throughout the following 75 years.

2293:   The Klingon moon Praxis, an energy production facility vital to the Empire, explodes. Disastrous environmental damage to the Homeworld directly leads to the implementation of a major peace initiative by the Klingon Empire toward the Unite Federation of Planets. In that same year, Klingon High Council Chancellor Gorkon is assassinated by combined Klingon, Romulan and Federation conspirators opposed to the peace process. Gorkon’s daughter, Azetbur, succeeds him at the Camp Khitomer Peace Conference, where over 70 years of hostilities between the Klingon Empire and the United Federation of Planets officially come to an end.

2344:   Klingon outpost Narendra III is attacked by Romulan forces. Aid rendered by Federation starship U.S.S. Enterprise-C is pivotal in sustaining the improved relations between the Klingon Empire and the UFP.

2346:   The Klingon outpost at Khitomer is utterly destroyed by Romulan forces, killing some 4,000 Klingons. Only two survivors are known to have escaped. It is suspected that the Khitomer Massacre was abetted by a traitor within the Klingon political circles, who is believed to have also perished in the outpost’s annihilation.

2364:   Klingon criminals Korris, Konmel and Kunivas attempt to escape punishment by capturing a Federation starship, but their dishonorable plot is unsuccessful.

2366:   The Klingon High Council identifies the late Mogh as the betrayer of the Khitomer outpost to the Romulans 20 years prior, resulting in the infamous Khitomer Massacre. Mogh’s sons, Worf (a Starfleet office) and Kurn, contest the judgment, resulting in the highly unusual event of a non-Klingon, Jean-Luc Picard, being named cha’DIch (defender of the accused), to stand against the Duras family challenge.

2367:   Chancellor K’mpec murdered; succeeded by Gowron.

2368:   The Klingon Civil War breaks out despite all efforts to avoid it, but when it is revealed that the Duras family members have made a secret pact with the Romulan Star Empire to support their military coup, Gowron’s forces prevail with Federation intervention to blockade the Romulan supply convoy.

2369:   Second Kahless ascends the throne.

2372: Relations between the Klingons and the Federation sour over the issue of the Klingon invasion of Cardassia. When the Federation refuses to support the Klingon invasion, Chancellor Gowron withdraws from the Khitomer Accords. For the next year, relations between the two powers are hostile.

2373: Fighting breaks out between the two powers. However when the Federation and Klingons discover that they are being manipulated by the Dominion, an uneasy cease-fire is declared. In mid-2373, the Cardassians formally announce they have joined the Dominion, and the Jem 'Hadar rapidly force the Klingons to retreat from Cardassian space, inflicting heavy damage on them. The Federation was able to convince Gowron to reinstate the Alliance.

Kruge was a fool. His absence in the annals of Klingon history disturbs me not in the least. Never the less,
well done, HoS'etlh.

I am honored, J'Maq.

It seems to me that only events and dates that represented turning points for the Empire were listed. Kruge's actions (which may not have been sanctioned), had no real affect on the Empire.

While doing more research on my unified timeline project, I find it interesting that Paraborg says Kahless unified the Empire in 600, as I have found other timelines that say he was born in 801.
