nuqneH!  Of all the different schools of painting, ranging from Realism, Romanticism, Impressionism, Expressionism, Cubism to Pointillism, which of these would be the more intrinsic style of the Klingon painter? Granted, Klingons are culturally varied, according to the regions in which they were born and
raised, but all Klingons adhere to a certain aestheticism. Klingons are a warrior race, after all. And for
that warrior aspect to be an integral part of any artistic work would come as no suprise.
Maybe it all comes down to the artist/painter? And whatever style or styles he/she wanted to
employ in the overall vision? If a non Klingon were to view the painting, would he/she say, " Yes, that's
definitely a Klingon style."  What style would that be?

We Have sort of Discussed this Worthy Topic Before, though it was Approached more from a "What Mediums" would Klingons like Most, My Feeling is that the Most Common Forms of Art that we Have seen have Been Sculpture... And that that Sculpture has Been Very "Realistic" rather than Abstract... Might Similar Trends not follow in Paint as well?

If I had to choose one Klingon warrior to fight at my side, regardless of the odds against us--It would be
Worf, son of Mogh. As for Michael Dorn, well, I've never met the man personally, so I have no
opinion about him one way or the other.

I must echo the Abbott, in saying that while I am not a Worf fan, that one of him, with half the face in shadow is an outstanding piece of artwork. It almost makes the wrong emotions come forth about him, making him look all warrior like and stuff.

Tedra,

I Have seen the Corax site before, and those are trully Beautiful pieces of Art... Do You Know if The Artist is still working? If those are Still really Available etc?

In the Second Link you Posted (The One that You Do Not Like the Forehead), I have to say that it is really too bad, because the Realism in the Armour is Outstanding...

We Ran into something Similar recently, when we Had an Artist Friend Attempt a Portrait of QeylIS for a Raffle at KSG... The Face was Great but the Ridges were more reminicient of Thing from F4...<Smirk>... So much so that we Could not Bring ourselves to Raffle it...<Sigh>...

I see Kilingon painting being part of the storytelling history in Klingon culture. Songs are sung to recall the valor - why not Paintings as well?
I see their art as clearly representative, and symbolic.
I would refer to the more Dynamic of the high renaissance painters and sculptors such as Titian, Bernini. With stretched poses, powerfull angles - who cares if it didn't happen exactly like that?
A more current example would be Frazzetta - very powerful and very dynamic both with his brushwork and his composition of his poses.
I reference all these artists in my own art - so I may not be completely subjective....
