[word of the author: stardate is not correct, but to make it easier 400 years + today]

SD 19122403

With anticipation was Tedra standing at the docking port 34-A3 SB 37. Soon her father would arrive and then the long, okay not so long awaited mission would be about to begin.

Although she was still a young woman, she already gained the position of the Cief of Security on the USS Falcon. She always has been keen to get this kind of position so as soon as her old job as OPS was canceled and her colleague and fried had been applying for a Position on the USS Falcon.

Until now her job has been challenging and exciting and had already brought her a medal. On Stardate 17112403 somethng happened which changed her attitude towards the federation completely. There had been a away mission and while Tedra waited for her father she thought again about what had happen there:

She was in charge of the mission. Her order was to kidnap a high ranking officier of a klingon mercenary group for getting information on their current employer. Unfortunatelly she misunderstood it a bit and was convinced that she had to kidnap the captain nobody less. Tedra still cursed herself for it as otherwise everthing could have ended different. Anyhow Tedra wanted to avoid bloodshed so she chose infiltration. With 2 of her klingon Security officers (more were not on the ship) she did beam on the Vorcha when the shields were down. They kept a low profile till the time was right for the kidnapping and the rendezvous with the USS Falcon. Then it happened, after the parted she met KoraS the first officer on board and her blood began to boil. With this began the desaster. She maybe would have been able to get the security codes in a different way, but KoraS has been her lucky catch. His codes were the second best and would bring her easly within reaching distance of the captain. But KoraS, here she felt a still a light tremble was the best thing ever happened to her which made her even more regret to knock out even twice. It was not honorably and unfair but Tedra didn’t have any time left. Through her failure, she blamed herself, T’Kara and later Mortak died. This guild layed still heavy on her shoulders and got even heavier when she received the information that some of the warrios which didn’t die in the battle where missing after launching several escape pods.

But there was hope of reducing the guilt, at least a bit or maybe to get her honor back. That was the reason of the current mission to the faelis System, which was about to begin.  There had been the first mission and there they would start their search. She had to know if she could help them and if KoraS was still alive.

They could not hope for help from the Klingon Empire although some of the mercenaries were from rich and powerful families. Still the positon of a mercenary was accepted but not highly respected. But K’Tor managed to contact some of this mercenary group and to convince them to help with the mission. They were actually as eager as Tedra to find their mission comrads. The only thing which till then kept them from searching was that they did not have the coordinates.

Tedra was so much in thought that she did start recognising the figure in front of her until he stopped and lifted his hand. In Reflex Tedra drew her dagger but K’Tor catched her wrist. "Good reflexes child, but where were your thoughts?" Tedra looked up in surprise. "But Tedra you know I can read in your face as easiely as I can read your mothers."  Examing he looked at her. "How are you little one?" Tedra made a small grimace. "Good if this is all over but a bit better now that you are here." Then she embraced her just a bit taller father. He was a bit surprised about that, as Tedra had declared with 10 that she was too old to be embraced. He caressed her hair. A bit later they were on their way to the quarters in the outer Ring.

Tedra was silent and so K’Tor got lost in his own thoughts. It had made him sad, to see his daughter like this, when he first contacted her after the mission. In that moment he decided, that he would help her in every way possible. He loved Tedra as much as Kilrana her mother and his son. A life without them would be worthless to him. He had hated to conceal the purpose of this voyage from her. In her opinion they were on a business trip for a “no danger” assignment. For years now his life was like this uneventful, what was much to his dislike but now he would have the opportunity to feel the spirit of a warrior again.

He did take a break of his work to help his daughter with her self inflicted mission. Kilrana would expect them back to this silly X-Mas Tradition. If everything would go right they would be finished by then. His daughter, he shook his had a bit, finally she found the right Klingon for her and then he was taken. Tedra never had spoken too much of the details but he could pretty well figure it our by himself. Head over Heels she has been falling in love. K’Tor himself was happy that it had been a Klingon, as he always feared that Tedra when entering the Starfleet Academy would come home with a human or something like that. Not that he was unhappy with his betasoid wife Kilrana, but Tedra was different she needed a warrior. Unlike his son she reminded him of himself, or maybe of his mother who had been a headstrong warrior. His son was a successful technician in star ship designs and K’Tor was proud of him as well. Tedra on the other side was a bit impatient although this was getting better since she joined Starfleet. Once she even accepted a snub of her commanding officer without any reaction. In her time on the klingon academy she would have tried to put him down for it. Security was her main interest and as long as she accepted the rules of Starfleet but still went on the path of honor, he was satisfied. For sure, he would have been delighted to see Tedra in the klingon armada instead but he couldn’t change her choice so he didn’t try. In his opinion she could have waited a bit before choosing her mate, but that was also not his business.

K’Tor had then pulled some strings and contacted the marauder to which this warrior had belonged. They were eager and accepted his request to accompany them in the search, as he was the one providing information. His son had not been informed about the voyage because otherwise he would have persisted to accompany them. He and Tedra were close, united by their mixed heritage. Other than his sister, who would have loved to be full klingon, he only remembered his klingon site when it came to the family.
