The Klingon Empire has lost it's way over the past century, going from a feared and respected race, to people you can bargain your way out of, where has this all come from?

Well I will admit that us humans have stuck our nose in where it doesn't belong on more than a few occasions, but the Ferengi on the other hand have made a MAJOR influence on the Empire, although there are still lots of Klingons who value the old code, there are alarming numbers who are starting to be more concerned with how much they can get. They have gone from earning respect and honor to earning wealth and fighting over who owns what because of the Ferengi scum!

So all klingons (and humans) who want to return to the good old days of fear, honor & respect lets start by subjugating the biggest cultural threat to the Klingons - the Ferengi, with all the wealth and the resources that they have the Klingon Empire will be strong once again!

The Ferengi will make a fine Worker Class!

To some of what you say there is some sense. The Ferengi are not suitable as a servitor race as any other. The Empire must be Klingon and only Klingon. We can do the work ourselves. We are the strong and any thing less demeans us. Those who wish to fill their pockets with latinum are no better than the Ferengi.

I have often said that the Ferengi are the most powerful race in the Galaxy. They changed the way everybody does commerce. In ST4:Save the Whales Kirk says they don't use money where he's from. A short 85 or so years later, everybody trades in Gold Pressed Latinum. Then on DS9 we find out that Latinum is a liquid, and that gold is the "worthless" solid that it is pressed into to make it usable. So the Ferengi have had quite an impact on the Galaxy.

As an aside, since I have seen reference to a Klignon coin called a Talon, in Kirk's era, I would assume that the Klingons did not entirely convert to electronic banking, if at all. Thus the Ferengi would not have been able to effect as big a change on the Empire as the Federation.

i admit, yes the Federation has made an influence to the Klingon Empire, but ever since peace was signed (somwhere starting with a K sorry im a bad speller :-/)the Federation has acted with honer,  its been Klingons and Humans fighting side by side helping to keep the peace, i know Klingons dont really desire peace but if our two people hadn't "joined" both of our cultures would be alot worse off.

now lets talk about the ferengi, whilste we were out defending the quadrent from countless wars, those big eared <censored> have been profitering from this, selling weapons and supplies to our enemies and helping to prolonge the wars, not very honerable at all!.
i know what you all are thinking, its part of their culture to seek profit, but what i say to this is - some cultures deserve to be subjugated!

While the chIrgh (Temple/Church), has no Moral Compunction about the Subjegation of an Inferior Species, I Would Point out that the Empire is Still Struggling to Piece itself Back together After the Huge Losses Incurred During the Dominion War... And Really The Loss of Praxis is still Felt throughout the Empire and its Various Protectorets... The Number of Personel, and the Expense in Resources required to Invest the Effort to Trully Put down a Wiley Species like the Ferengi seems wastefull... Better to Mount a Full Invasion of Ferenganar itself and be done with it...

Though I Would Also Point out, that the Orions too Sell to Both sides of a Conflict and we Continue to do Business with them, So I Am Concerned that Taking on a Militarily Inferior Species Like the Ferengi based on Such Arguments, While a Stronger Enemy is left to do Business as usua,l might Appear to be An Act of Cowerdice on the Part of the Empire... At the Very Least, an Attempt to Achieve an Easy Victory...

No I Think that our Current Woes are less to do with Whom we have chosen as Enemies (Or Might Choose), and More to do with Who we have Chosen as Allies... Individually there have been Honorable Humans, but the Federation as an Institution Is Not, And While the Federation Claims to Have "Higher Aspirations" than Galactic Dominance, or Racial Purity, it is an Expansionist Culture... A Rival Empire Competing with us for Resources and the Power to Direct our Own Destiny... While Such a Dangerous Force Exists We Must Not Be Distracted by The Trivial and Distastefull Lessor Creatures of the Alpha Quadrant such as the Ferengi, and Consentrate more Fully Upon the Larger Question of Getting out From under the Yoke of the Federations Diplomats...

Of course we as Klingons need to live up to our manifest destiny. We must stop pandering to the Federation everytime they whine out another demand. When the Romulans make a demand, we respond with firepower. When the Cardasians started harboring the Dominion, we responded with an invasion force. Why then when the Federation makes a demand do we respond by signing another treaty? I am not advocating a full scale war with eh humans, although it would be glorious. I am however advocating an empire that concentrates more on what the Klingons need rather than what the federation says the Klingons can have.

Oh and my earlier remark about the ferengi not having as much effect on the Empire as the Federation was misunderstood. I meant that the Ferengi had invaded federation culture more than they had the Klingon culture.

I Certainly Understood your meaning about the Influence upon the Federation by the Ferengi... It was a Point Well Made...

And I Also Agree with your Comments on the Need for Our Glorious Empire to Cease Capitulating to Each Federation Whim, and Power Grab... Thus I Would Like to Hear From Some of the Diplomats on this Issue? Since this Forum is a Diplomatic Resource After all...<Grin>...
