Are you a member of a Klingon club like KAG, KIDC, IKF, or any that has national/worldwide fan base?  If so, then you can contact one of the local area commanders.  They have the resources available to help you get a ship/outpost started.

Their may also be a Klingon club in your area that you arn't aware of.  That happened in my case.  My ship is the only known ship in Louisiana, when I saw one in LA I thought...great another New Orleans area (I live in North LA) but alas it was only in the next town. I never knew about it untill I researched clubs.  Now I'm Quadrant CO for the Cold Revenge Quadrant in KAG.  My Quad is LA, TX, Ark, OK, and Miss

Check for local Star Trek clubs, even Star Wars, Bab 5, Renesiance Clubs.  Many may choose one over the other, but in most clubs you can be members of other Sci-fi clubs.   Get a uniform and go to places and recruit.

I only tried a couple of links from this list... (Most were no longer functioning)... I found this with just with one Yahoo search For "Klingon Clubs In Indiana" And there were other options as well. So do as few web searches use variants, and different search engines. Worse case scenario let me know by private message and I'll give you some info On K.L.A.W. 4th Fleet.

While I of course favor the Independat club idea, the support structure of the larger clubs can not be denied. Especially if you are starting from scratch. You may even find that there are other members in your area, who have been waiting for the right time to form a more local club.

One word of caution about becomming a chapter of a club with no other chapters near you. While this may be a strong club and a great organization, you will be in a frontier like situation when it comes to events and activities. That could be an exciting venture, to be the first ship in a new area, or it could be a big headache.

If you chose to join the Klingon Assault Group (KAG) you would be in the Cold Terror Fleet and I believe in the Cold Steel Quadrant.  That Quad has ships in KY, Ohio, and Michigan.   The Quad CO could help you get started creating your own ship and you would be part of a world wide Klingon org.

If you chose to be part of a major Klingon club, check them all out. I'm telling you about KAG becaus I'm a member.  I'm not saying "KAG RULES AND ____ DROOLS!" Even contact the COs for each group and see which is more to your liking.  But make the choice based on what fits YOU the best.

Its almost like joining a House...but thats a diff. thread!!!

Well, after putting some thought into it, I think it would be better if I joined a ship instead of created one...because I unfortunatly have niether the time or the resourses to make one myself.  Im gonna think over this a little more and let you know what I decide...thank you.

W.O.K.

So Did you Ever Find a Group? Upon Re-reading this Thread I realized that I Had Skipped an Obvious Potential Solution...

Step 1- Contact Your Local Library and Look Into Reserving a Meeting Space. (This is Usually Free).

Step 2- Take out an Add in the Local Paper that reads Something Like "Looking For Klingon Fans in the Area"... And Give the Dates of the Reserved Library Meeting...

Step 3- Go to the Meeting. Worse Case Scenario No One Shows and You are out a Few Bucks... But You May Get a Few Folks to Show Up... Then Discuss The Club Idea and See if anyone is Interested. If So You Could Start a Discussion about Starting a New Club or Joining an Existing one...

In any Event I'd like to Hear how things Turned out...
