The cynical side of me is sure this is a scam of some type, but what kind of scam remains to be seen. But the gullible side of me will watch this to see what happens, much like one watches a train wreck because you can't keep your eyes off of it.

That which does not kill me, must have missed me.

As I write this the high bid is USD 2.75. They must have gotten a fantastic exchange rate.

That almost answers my next question, has anyone tried translating the page? There is quite a bit of apparently tlhIngan Hol on the lower half in the questions that have been asked section. I was wondering if there are any clues to the puzzle there?

I've tried to translate it using [pojwI'].
From the quick and dirty translation I did (with the I->l substitution it was harder) it seemed like the seller is either selling a fight or a Klingon friendship...
It is quite complicated, the way pojwI' works... But it surely beats looking up every verb, pre- and suffix in the dictionary...

And now, as this strange auction winds down....he offers up his sister for the evening. An offer which I am not sure is Klingon at all. Certainly there is no honor in such an offer, as the one being offered should be the one making the offer.

What a prime example of a bogus auction...

I emailed the guy through Ebay,He said he ran the translation through http://www.kli.org/tlh/phrases.html and http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Rampart/78...7893/phrase.htm .
and on other site but he could not rember. He said
Quote
am not really a "Trekie". I grew up watching the original Star Trek and loved it as a kid. Itried watching an episode a few months ago, but didn't make it very far. I was stationed in Berlin Germany when the Next Generation came out. We didn't get it on the Armed Forces channel, but my roomates family would tape them and send them to him. I watched the first episode, and got pissed. I remember Cpt Pickard surrendering to Q. I told my roomate that Cpt Kirk would never surrender and didn't watch anymore for a while....."

He also said

When people started e-mailing me, I would only answer in Klingon (as best I could). However, someone bid on the auction and then asked about what they had bid on. When I replied only in Klingon a couple times they got pissed and turned me in to e-bay for not stating in english what was up for bidding. I told the woman she was an idiot for bidding on something before she knew what it was

His calling the bidder an idiot, while probably correct, seems just like a way to deflect the real question of just what it was he was doing. eBay let the auction stand, so they must not have had too much trouble with whatever it was.
