There is a Small Contingent of our Club intending to Storm Hotlanta Sector in August for Dragon Con... Anyone Else Going to Be There this Year?

I have thought about going for many years, but it is too far away to go and still be affordable. Maybe someday when all the stars line up just right.

Hmm... my sentiments for most (USA/N-American) cons...

I looked into Dragon Con with a friend of mine, and even sharing a room, the costs of transportation, convention tickets, food & lodging combined to make it less than feasable. But then again the same factors come into play with conventions closer to home.

Traditionally we Tend to Poole Resources to Go... As a Younger Man, 10 and 12 People Splitting a Room was not Uncommon... Today with a Wife In The Picture, we Do Not Usually have more than Four to a Room... In Any Event that Helps a lot... And This is Sort of my "Big" Con/Vacation for the Year, the Rest of my Klingon Related Events are Closer to Home... I DO Understand the Distance and Money Issue involved though... I Have Wanted to Make GenCon for Years and Have Never Managed to do so... If Anyone Does Decide to Make it Down/Over/Up/Across I Encourage the Ladies to Register for the Miss Klingon Empire Pagent, And As for the Lads We'll Put You To Work... And Make Sure that You all (Lads and Ladies), Have lot's of Abbey Ale!!!

I too remember the days of Klingon hotel rooms , with folks sleeping on and under tables, in the closet, just about anywhere one could fit. Those were the days. What started as me, my wife and another couple flying in and meeting up in Atlanta, quickly devolved to checking greyhoud schedules to renting a bigger car and driving down (almost a 24 hour drive) before we realized that we needed to come up with a better solution. Sadly Dragon Con & I will likely have to wait to meet until I win the lottery.
