Greetings Citizens of the Empire,

I have Been Encouraged to Post Some Information about the Klingon Summer Games Being Held by Our Local Chapter of K.L.A.W. 4th Fleet In Gainesville Florida on April 21st-23rd of 2006.

The K.S.G. is Being Organized and Hosted By the Dugh toy'wI' Library, As an Independant Event Open to Everyone Regardless of Club or Organization Affiliation. The Library Extends this Invitation too Anyone Interested in Participating, Though the Competitions themselves are Open to Klingons Only... (Again, Regardless of Group or Club Affiliation)...

This Event will be a Two Day Combination of Indoor, (Hey it's Hot in Florida During the Summer), Group Oriented Competitions and General Klingon Get Together... In The Past there have Been Some Good Examples of Individual Klingons Being Recognized, Such as In the Miss Klingon Pagent at Dragon Con...

So We Felt that it was Time For a Chapter/ Unit Level Event... Each Chapter or Unit will Compete in Several Competitions, Throughout the Evening on Friday and During the Day on Saturday. Saturday Night We Will Hold an Awards Banquet To Recognize the Overall Highest Scoring Chapter With The Coveted E.U.C. or Elite Unit Citation...

While the Various Competitions are Being Designed for Group Participation, There are a Couple of Individual Tasks as well, so those who Arrive "Unassigned" to a Unit May also Compete. Though the Over all E.U.C. will be awarded to a Winning "Unit" Which Will Consist of three or more individauls. Those who Show up Individually may also Elect to Group together and Form a Unique Unit(s) in order to Compete for the E.U.C.

It Should Be Noted, that Most of Your Ticket Price Goes towards Paying for Your Meals and the Hotel Convention Space... Any After "Cost" Money Collected will Go To a Local Charity of Our Chooseing... (Which is To Say that we Have Not, as yet, Chosen the Charity)... Although We are Provideing Meals throught most of the Event, Your Ticket Cost DOES NOT Cover Hotel Room Rentals...

We Encourage Early Registration, Which is why we are Giving Everyone such a long time in Advance to Prepare...

What kind of events are going to be there?  I checked out the sites and couldn't find any specific events, just "who will be the best warrior".   Is their bat'letH fighting? paintball shooting?  tribble tossing?  Recreational Romulan Genocide?  Ferengi noogeing?

This is a Legitimate Question Certainly... We are However Maintaining a Certain Level of "Secrecy/Suprise" as to Specific Events... We are However Trying to Have a Few that will Reflect Specific Disciplines, Such as Science, or Engineering... There will be an Opportunity for Participants to Earn their Disrupter Qualification Badges... And There Are a Couple Trully "Group" Oriented Events as Well... Not To Mention Standbys like A Trivia Contest and a Scavenger Hunt... The Idea here is to Provide an Award That The Winning Unit Will Be Proud to have Achieved, and thus Grant Such Units certain "Bragging Rites"... How Kewl Would it be for a Klingon to Be Asked about their K.S.G. Pin on their Honor Sash and Be Able to Proclaim Proudly, "My Ship Was Awarded the Elite Unit Citation, and I Took 1st Place in the Disruptor Competitions at the Klingon Summer Games in 2006!

The Hand to Hand Combat Stuff is Being Postponed For another Time, as We do not Currently have the Available Space and Resources to Provide Events that would Fall into "Terran" Saftey Paramaters... (Safe Weapons and Protective gear Being High on that List)...

In any Event we have made a Concious Effort to Create Games that will be Entertaining, Fun and Above All SAFE! (Safety Might Not be a Priority For Klingons, but it is to Most Terrans who Play at being Klingon), Also Since this is the First Such Event that we have Hosted We will be Providing Comment Cards and Surveys to be Turned in Sunday Morning to aide us in Planning Future Summer Games Competitions.

Just a Brief update on the K.S.G. for 2006....

The Hotel is Ready for us, All of the Deposits are Paid, And a Block of Rooms has Been Set Aside Just For Attendees of the Games...

The Search For Appropriate Klingon Themed Music Continues (Thank You Kesvirit for Your Contributions to Date)...

Most of the Events Are Fairly well Fleshed out, though Some Rules Claryfication still needs to be Completed, as well as some Test Playing of some of the Original Constructs for the K.S.G....

Many of the Props Needed for this Project have been aquired, though some of the Larger Set Pieces and the Like will not be able to be Constructed until we get Closer to the Dates of the Games...

Spread the Word, The K.S.G. is Gonna be a Blast!!!!

And the Big News of the Hour is that we Have Confirmed That The Musical Talents of Our Favorite Klingon Band 'WAR BAND' have Been Secured for Sayurday Night (April 22nd 2006)...

This will be a Great opportunity For those Who Have Never Seen WAR BAND before to get the Chance... Although Their Popular Klingon Set will Certainly be a Big Hit as Always, they Also have a Diverse Array of Non Klin themed Rock and Roll with which to Please the Masses...

The Klingon Summer Games T-Shirts Are Available In The Following Sizes and Prices:

Medium, Large, X-Large = $20.00
XX-Large/XXX-Large = $23.00 (Very Limited Quantities of The 3X)!

These Shirts are Black T's with A Large Variant of the KSG Logo On The Pack and KSG 2006 on the Pocket. They are a Cotton/Poly Blend and are Supposed to be Preshrunk, but I Advise Not Putting them in the Dryer...

This is The LAST Day To Register at the Advertised $60.00 Rate. We Must Have Received Your Payment By This Date In Order to Get this Price. Any Registrations that Come In After that will cost $70.00 Until the 13th .

April 13th 2006:

Registrations Received After this Date will Cost  $80.00.

April 17th 2006:

We MUST Turn in Our Final Attendee Count By This Date. Although We Can Add Numbers on After this we Will Be Charged Extra and Ticket Prices Will Go Up to $90.00! Do Not Let this happen to You.
