I was once part of the now defunct Dutch club "Tova'Daq".
I've never been in the organisation of any club, but...
I've been toying with the idea of a new club, and I do like the idea of it being a ship, as is used in the club I belong to, Khemorex Klinzhai.
I would like the ship to belong to a club, like KAG or the Khemorex, but I don't want to restrict my fellow Klingons to one club alone.

Does anyone have an idea of how I could make this work?
Any advice is welcome.

This sounds like a cool idea but I see a few problems with this, with a military based club/ship there is the matter of rank. Each organization not only gets to set thier own rank structure, but thier own promotion standards, which will probably conflict. Some clubs will require all ship members to join the parent club others do not. Some clubs elect thier chapter Captains, others appoint them. Some make any Ship leader a Captain, so use lower ranks for newer or smaller ships.

I had a friend who was a Captain in a Federation based club. Many of his members were also members of another federation based club in the area. More often than not the individual members held different ranks within the different clubs. This made uniforms a problem, due to human nature of wanting to wear the highest rank you hold. At single club events this isn't much of a problem, but at conventions where both clubs are there, this was the source for much confusion and a few arguments. Imagine an Ensign who walks up to the Captain wearing Lieutenant Commander's insignia. That doesn't even address the Federation habit of assigning different uniform colors to different functions, which thankfully isn't a problem with us Klingons.

I think allowing members to hold dual memberships is certainly doable, but trying to be a chapter of multiple organizations will lead to simply pounding your head to even more ridges start to appear.

Not having any experience in organisation, Trek-related or otherwise, your opinion is certainly welcome.

I'll talk to the former captain (and members) of Tova'Daq before setting rules.
For now a rogue ship sounds like the best plan.
I will need more information on the clubs I've considered being part of.

A Rogue Ship IS a Great Idea... And Perhaps have a Policy of "Leave Your Military Rank" at the Door?

Alternately Perhaps You Could Create a "Society" within Klindom which is Open to Various/All Clubs...?

A "Klingon Appreciation Society" as it were? That sounds like a plan.
I could make it a Klingon Ambassy in Europe/The Netherlands...

Thanks for that Idea.

You Know, For Several Years we had a Physical Embassy that we used to Set up at Cons and the Like... Different "Ships/Chapters" would Contribute All Kinds of Items for Display Purposes... And Of Course there would be all Manor of Klingon Food And Drink... There was Even a Passport, that You Could Get "Stamped" To Track Conventions Attended...

Anyway, Let us Know how it Turns out...

Why must it be a "rouge" ship? Who are the leaders/members of any of our clubs to say that a single ship with no parent organization is any less a part of the Imperial Fleet than any other ship/chapter of a respective club?

Just because you are not affiliating with someone else does not make you any less (or to be fair, any more) of a Klingon than the rest of us. Then again, you may decide that affiliation works best for you. Go with whatever works.

You have a point, but I would like to affiliate for instance with the big club Khemorex Klinzhai I am now member of. I will ask them too what their chapter policy is.

All this at the moment still only is in my mind and in the confines of these forums.

SoplaHtaHwI',

Might I not so Humbly Ask rather you have Come up with a "Vision" Statment for this Ship/ Society?

It might Help You TO Organize your Ideas about what you want to see this Organization Acheive...?

I mean I am Curious about the Concept, But Do not Have a Clear Idea of What you Plan to do with it once you have Created it?

For now I've done away with this multi-club ship idea. There's a ship which I want to join (waiting for the club to react) and I am slowly amassing people for a ship I can found within my current club.
