to the best of my knowledge, there are no current plans to make another series, although there may be a film coming out some time in the next couple of years. I think the possible film is being discussed somewhere on this forum, but I can't remember exactly where.
I vote for a new series of Battle Cruiser Vengeance!

We have been talking about the
Star Trek 11 movie
. There is going to be one, appearently, and the director has been quoted as having a fondness for the old series. Beyond that anything else at this point is just rumours.
Battlecruiser Vengence would be good, but I don't trust Paramount to do it properly. This is something best done by by Klingons for Klingons. We just have to get enough real Klingons together with a passible script and some film equipment. Technology has advaced to the point that ametures can make some really decent productions without million dollar price tags.

Well there is kinda a new series coming out, but it's the original series but new,,,, Hmmmmmmmmmm I hear you going all the answers are here....
http://www.newvoyages.com/
Basically a professionally made new series of the TOS, using some of the original crew and some original cast in cameo's from what I can tell, only found the site a few days ago and bumped into one of the guys who played a klingon in it too. There are teasers there but they will be full 1 hours episodes from what I was told, and if clearance pending might become fully licensed and official etc etc,,,,, read the site as my facts might be a little off here and there

The guys from the New Yoyages were at the Starfleet Ball last February so I got to meet Captain Kirk.... they have been approved by Paramount - providing they don't make any money out of it - and the guy who plays Kirk puts up all the money for it.
There are two episodes so far and the third, guest starring Walter Koenig is out in September. The first episode I saw was in an alternate reality and Kirk had a Klingon science officer.
the biggest downside is that Kirk looks like Elivis, as the actor is a professional Elvis impersonator although the word impersonator does not do him justice as he is good. Actually he has a really stunning, velvety singing voice.
The pilot cannot be found at the website, you have to search for it. when I find it again, i will post the link.
What else... oh yes, several British Klingons who are friends of mine, have been asked to go to America to appear in the next episode.

The New Horizons Mirror page
lists sites where you can download the episodes. They aren't the only TOS recreationists.
Starship Exeter
also created a TOS studio and have filmed an episode or two. There are probably others too. Obviously these are not canon, even with the backing of Paramount, I would place this in the same category as the Star Trek novels. Paramount is willing to let you make and distribute it as long as you don't make money and you don't embarass Paramount too badly like turn it into a porno or something (as if the first season of Enterprise wasn't bad enough in that regard).
