Another, more practical for having the special ops/elite forces/secret agents use ships from the general forces' fleet as needed is that you have one less set of ships to pay for and customize. The general forces' fleet can do double duty for the producer while maintaining cosistancy within the setting of the story.

I think I will pay tribute to this poem, and place a Yellow BOP at the prison landing port. Will make people guess what it is for. One yellow rusted BOP coming up.
Poem, query? I have looked high, low, and backwards, but do not see a poem mentioning yellow BOPs, rusted or not...

Yellow Bird of Prey - toQDuj SuD 'ej wov
[Yellow submarine]
By Lt veqtaH vestai-ja'ngeQ
....
CHORUS:
We all live in a yellow Bird of Prey, ...

And our friends are all aboard,
Kept in stasis just next door:
And the targs begin to howl.

-Insert targ howls here- ...

Although we live a warrior's life,
we've run into a bit of strife,
'Cause all our grog got beamed away
From our yellow Bird of Prey....
It mentions grog, and is a song, not a poem -- a filksong based on Yellow Submarine by "The Coleoptera".
It does involve howling, which is dangerously close to singing when Klingons and grog are involved.

Taxis, yellow taxis, video entertainments about yellow taxis... Yellow dots that gorge on white ones...  Odd, how many references to index artifacts of twentieth century Earth have come up in this thread.

Since we're talking about painting models now...does anybody know where there are some production stills of Kronos 1?
A search of Google Images yielded these shots of Kronos 1; I don't know if these are actual production stills or not. I suggest you also check in The Art of Star Trek if you have access to a copy.

Clicking on  this image of the IKC Amar (ST:TMP) and Kronos 1 will download a zipped file containing each isolated element of the completed image, so that the details may be more closely examined. I do not know if this composition was taken from production stills, or whether the shots of Kronos 1 were internally consistant within the film.

that is it. I have pretty much decided to spray up a landed Yellow BOP, which will be a prison transport ship. It will be "yaxi yellow" but be badly rusted and poorly maintained. I think it is a cool idea. It will not play a part in this episode, buut may in others. It will just be a prop.
