Okay, so what exactly is this timeline?

Well, we know that Qo'noS was invaded by Hur'q, not long after time time of Kahless.  At some point the Hur'q were overthrown and the Klingons regained control of thier destiny.   This is that time.   Basically any stories that take place after the start of the Klingon revolt to the re-establishment of a new stable Klingon government are valid stories for this forum.

If you are paying attention to the war in Iraq, or have studied history of the aftermath of any revolutionary war, you know how much work it is to sort out just who gets to run the government and what exactly that government should be.  Especially when we are talking Klingons where nearly everybody is a war hero, or at least thinks they are.

The time of Kahless was largely a feudal society both technically and socially.   There may have been some advancement before the invasion, but in general any technology more advanced than primative forging is going to have to come from the Hur'q.   We believe the Hur'q ruled over the Klingons for about 200 years.  So no one alive has any direct recollections of the time before the invasion.   The Hur'q specifically set out to destrory and repress Klingon history, so what you know of your history was probably in the form of quietly whispered stories.
