in “Degh” CD by Tek for Trek the following remarks were made:
Quote
Commentary and discussion regarding Klingon music and attempts to imitate it are best saved for the Klingon Lyrics and Music section.
The 'discussion' was more on what music there was and where to get it...

Quote
Is anyone up to the challenge of writing a more detailed review before I get around to drawing my stilettoed stylus?
I might be doing that later, when I retrieve the CD from the remnants of my scout

Quote
Quote
I know there are two other CDs, one Klingon inspired and one {tlhIngan Hol} (Klingon language) inspired. I only have the latter one...
Two other DCs by Degh? In addition to the one with four different mixes by Degh?
Huh? What? {nuq?} Confusion, Will Robinson! }}8-S

-=- Kesvirit?
Sadly no... There are two other CDs that I know of: a CD with Klingo-German songs and a Borg Brainwash by Klenginem and the CD from Kosmik Horrör, with Klingon-inspired metal and as far as I know also actual {tlhIngan Hol}.

I too have the kosmic horror CD. While I do think it a good attempt, it is less musical than some of the Metal I am used to. The lyrics also are hard to hear, and thus to understand. Overall it is a good CD, I think there were technical problems more than anything else.

I Would Like to See more Klingon Oriented Music Period... I Am Much Less Concerned with Specific "Styles" as Long as it is Klingon...

Kesvirit and I recently Had a Discussion about Degh, I Like it, though I have Probably Heard it Less often than Some, and I am Not Criticing the Language or Lyrics, but rather Appreciating an Effort made by the Tek for Trek Folks...

The Klenginem is Hilarious, though I am Not a Fan of Hip Hop I Thought that it was Again a Creative Effort Worthy of Recognizing, but I Would Not Play it During say a klingon Ceremony...

rojqoq I Found to be Technically Very Interesting, and Certainly somewhat "Alien" Sounding, but Not as Easy to Listen to, Nor Particularly Primal in its Emotional Solicitations as Even somthing as Simple as the Klingon Anthem (Koi QeylIS Pu'Qlod)...

I Would Really Like to Hear Some More Operetic Efforts...

There is actually an operatic CD sung partly in tlhIngan Hol.
It was made by a girl in Hannover, Germany, about 6 or 7 years ago.
Unfortunately I don't have it, but I saw it several times and listened some songs.
She's a trained opera singer and has quite an impressing voice.
She used to be member of Khemorex Klinzhai, but left us some years ago.
I try to find out, if it's still available somehow.

That would be great I would really like to hear it...

I also (Very Circumstantially) found this http://www.myspace.com/nocterminal

This guy has made Two pieces of music (Omen, and Bound by Batleths), which are both D/L free from that site... (And for those who may have heard these before, he has remixed and re-recorded them so they are no longer scratchy and poppy sounding)...

Pretty interesting stuff... And he has no issue with folks playing his stuff publically as long as he gets credit for it...

Bound by Batleths in particular, could be an excellent "Source" for someone to Karaoke over... Especially since the beginning hints at the same melody as the Klingon Anthem anyway...

Check it out, and say Hello to him, he is interested in feedback...

maj! (Good)...

I have already e-mailed back and forth with the artist behind nocterminal about ceremonial uses. I also recently came up with an idea for a dance performance (not by me, I am not a dancer) possibly using Bound by Batleths.

Yes he is open to interaction with Klingon Fans...

Interesting... A Dance routine... I like it... Have you any experience with Choreography? (Dance not Fight, though that would likely be very useful for such a project as well)...

My role is just the basic concept and some minor input to the choreography. Although I did go to a performing arts high school (I was a stage hand, not a performer). My wife is the dancer in question, and has been thinking of trying to come up with a Klingon dance for a while.

Awesome... Perhaps this is something that you folks would be willing to present at KSG at some point?

I've checked them out (he's made three, but the third is technonoise I don't like), and they do very much fit Klingons.
I went ahead and downloaded them.

Good stuff!

Did you send him a note and greeting? He is not himself a Klingon, though he likes Klingon fans well enough, and appreciates feedback...

I am hoping that he will eventually *Ask* about creating more Klingon music... (Cause Like everything else, I have dozens of Ideas for what other people should/could be working on... cool ...)

Anyway, I figure the more folks who give him feedback, the more likely he will keep thinking about making new Klingon oriented music...

I have tried to contact NocTerminaL via his myspace.com site, but it seems this is only possible if I first subscribe to Myspace.
I'm not willing to go so far...

He periodically posts to some of the Yahoo Groups related to Klingons, That's how I was able to e-mail him. Sadly I don't think I saved his address but I will try and locate it for you.

I am trying to get our legion ambassador Kita together with him to start working on what is slowly being titled "The Empire Oath Project"...

Does anyone else know any other musicians or vocalists who might be interested in a braoder scoped Klingon Music Project (AKA Empire Oath Project)...
