Hi. It is good to find this forum. I have had a ... resurgance in my star trek interest recently. I have always been a fan, especially the Klingons, but I have been really stung buy a (klingon bug) with interest. Anyhoo, I have started to try and draft a klingon home made short film. I would really like to do it with real people , but cost and people have been in short supply. I am currently testing with action figures and doing some frame buy frame filming. It hasnt turned out too bad. I will try to put a 5 min action scene on the web when I complete it. The story I am drafting, basically involves the elite klingon guard called(? the watch/ guards of Kahless) A traditionally dressed small klingon squad.... if anyone is interested, I will explain in more detail later.

Did anything in particular trigger this 'bug'?    I would like to find out what it is so I can respark some interest in Klingons in my neck of the woods...  Cheesy Klingon Grin

What do you mean when you say "traditionally dressed"  Are you talking the black tunics and gold sashes of TOS, or animal hides, or ...  What traditions are they getting thier clothes from?

It sounds like you have some questions on what to call this elite group of warriors.   They could probably be a part of the Klingon Honor Guard(if you have played the video game with that name), and be an ultra elite suborganization picking up where the KHG leaves off...

Well "the bug" I started making short films(training films 10 mins long), then I watched trekkies 1 again, really loved the all the great things that represented the original rodenberry appraoch, watched trekkies 2, got the idea of looking into a trek fan club here in Australia. tossed around developing a short fan film, that has then gone from a earth based concept to a Klingon one.
I honestly think that there is a HUGE culture developed from the klingon characters and fans, that a really cool/ impactfull story can be developed.

I would like to develop it with greater.. realisim? maturity? Power of the klingon race.

It s very obsesive at the present moment. I am about to start the construction of a 300:1 bird of prey with landing gear and remotely movable wings, based of the AMT model and BOP blue prints. I used to be a pretty good model builder.

It is very open, and Im not what you would call a Klingon expert, so feedback is greatly appreicated. I was thinking animal hide. They are a small group of well know(in klingon empire) legend warriors. Not very well known outside of Klingon empire. They generally keep to themselves, very scary in the flesh. Very smart large, strong proud. They like traditional weapons, but enhance themselves with state of the art and use it if the level of force requires it. They love hand to hand combat, the religion of Kahless totally devoted to the empire. NOT primative animals(sometimes I get the feeling they are protraded that way in some trek ep), but intelligent warriors of a technical age, with deeply honorable ties to the past.
I mean worf is the best, and I love him, but these guys would eat him alive. You get the picture.

Even though there is a rank structure, the challange for advancement does not exsist in this squad. They are all seasoned and respectfull of each other.
Dont kid yourself, they are all scary tough and have great capacity for brutality, but not with each other. they are brothers, that work as one in a common cause.
well Im getting carried away, I have a drafted story , I am now trying to write a draft script, story board, required sets/ props.
It is very early.
It may never get off the ground but im having a blast trying to sort it out.

KahPLah! I find your film idea very intriging and honorable. If I can be of any service, please let me know. I may not be a Da'Har master, but I am certainly a trek fanatic. Any grey fuzzy areas of knowledge that you need filled in, please ask away.  If you're up for a little constructive advice, it might not be a bad idea to use the star trek ship generator for a CG effect for any battles you would be interested in doing. May Kahless guide your warriors travels as well as your hands durring the filming process.

thankyou very much for your support. I would indeed enjoy any type of support. I am currently writing the script. I have been working extensively on blue screen model development of a BOP and a marquis raider. The BOP at  present has four landing lights, upper and lower nav strobes, and I have started machining out the front of the ship to install the dotted lighting around the torpedo launcher.
It will have servo driven movable wings and landing gear.
At this stage I intend to use models only with CGI phaser fire and explosions.
I will make it a serious short film, focusing on and around the klingon empire(not federation).
anyway, I have written about it several times in this wonderful BBS.
Special feature: There will be a black BOP suposedly lost from the Black fleet and manned by lost souls.
