hello,
does anyone know what the klingon equivalent of hell is? i've tried looking elsewhere for that specific word, but cannot find it. it probably doesn't help that i can't remember what the klingon version of the underworld is. a translation of this would do fine. if you want to know in what context i'm whating to use the word, it's for the message: 'i'll see you in hell'
many thanks!

Klingons do not really have a "hell", per se. In Okrandian canon, there are two places Klingons go after they die: {yo' qIj} "The Black Fleet", where warriors fly about, killing each other over and over in an ecstatic cycle, and {ghe''or} or {ghe'tor} (it's been called both), the Klingon Underworld. Not much is known about this place, except that it is where dishonored dead go, and it appears that it is run by a very attractive soul named the Fek'lhr (poss. sp). (It's {veqlargh}, to be {Hol}-y about it)

::chuckles to himself, because {veQ largh veqlargh} "The Fek'lhr smells garbage" has never occured to him 'till now::

But I digress...

The context is very helpful, and as a reward for your foresight, you will receive your answer quickly. }}: )

"I'll see you in hell", strictly speaking, is:
{ghe''orDaq qaleghbej} "I will definitely see you in hell."

This means, simply, "I will perceive you with my eyes while you are in hell"

It says nothing about the location of the perceiver, and it does not imply that the perceiver will have anything to do with the perceivee's situation. (It's not a "I'll see to it that you're in hell"-type thing.)

If you're implying that you'll be *meeting* your friend in hell, I would try:
{ghe'torDaq maghombej} "We will definitely meet in hell."

If you're trying to say that you'll be sending him/her there, and you'll be along sometime, you could try:
{ghe''orDaq maghomqa'bej} "We will definitely meet again in hell."

Now that I've given you 8.72 million choices, I'll tell you what I would do in your situation:

I would go with {ghe''orDaq maghombej}, because , to me, at least, it is the closest to the *meaning* of the English.

But, as always, this is your choice, I shan't interfere, and I'll support any informed decision you make. If you need more info, have more questions, etc., repost, and I'll gladly work with you.
