I must admit that I have never read The Final Reflection, but I am searching for it. I have a book coming through the mail and will be reading that for a while. What is The Final Reflection about?

The book follows the career of Vrenn, a Klingon who, among other things, plays Klin Zha. It is an engrossing story, and really pulls you in. IMHO, it can hold its own up against any bit of modern lit, Trek or not. You will enjoy it, tmk.

Believe me this is one book, you will be reading over and over again, referencing, looking things up... Rereading cover to cover. It is the most conceptually rich book a Klingon could hope for... Too bad none of it is canon...

Yea that is too bad. In Pawns, it was said that Klingons have boy-girl-boy.
But in other books, it was said some families were brought down because
they had two girls, and look at Worf, Kern...

I just made the half way point. I was wondering(and trying not to sound like a newbie) Why was Vrenn's adoptive family killed?
I thought he was a "Thought Admiral"of some sort. Of corse this is my first time to read it and i am not quite sure about everthing.I would be thankful for any insight that a Pro could give

I thought he was a "Thought Admiral"of some sort.
I have not reread that part of the book for a bit so the exact details elude me, but here is my take...
Kethas was a Thought Admiral, a master tactician and Grand Master ranked Klinzha player. He was a living embodiment of the Komerex Zha. Such a mind could not resist the lure of Geopolitics. In his estimation, the best chance for the Klingon Empire was an alliance with the Romulans. He spoke openly of his support of the furtherance of diplomatic relations with the Romulans. But this is not why he was killed. Kethas was not content to confine himself to moving pieces above the board. Not with the extra challenge involved in manipulating pieces beneath the board. He involved himself in at least one conspiracy, and when the conspiracy was exposed, his name was implicated. Such treachery is punishable by death. His alien wife and servitors were as was expected of them, completely loyal to him and without any personal honor independant of his own, and thus they were not worth the risk of allowing them to continue to live.
