I (El_Nero_Diablo) am a Human/Klingon hybrid ('Mudblood' as Draco Malfoy (Harry Potter) says it) who likes guns, swords (not cheap flimsy plastic ones), fast cars/ships (Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII comes to mind, as does the Delta Flyer), am about 16 (Terran) who also plays (very) good FPS's (STVoy:EF1/EF2, Q3A/TA) and RPG's (DII/LoD) and Strategy (SC/BW) games. I got into Star Trek by getting 'hooked' on Voyager and TNG and got into the TNG movies (Generations, First Contact, Nemisis) but would like to see some based around the Voyager crew (if they get back into space).

Are you a Klingon/Human Fusion (Original Star Trek Klingons, Kang,  Mara, Kor, Koloth, etc. ) or just a half-human like Keylhr and Be'lanna?

Human Grandfather (Paternal), Klingon Grandmothers (Paternal & Maternal), Romulan Grandfather (Maternal) is how my blood line goes.
So not DNA transfusions outside the blood line, but DNA fusion within the blood line.

Why is this board going so slow and quiet nowadays? Sad

Would that I knew.

The short-term answer, I suspect, is that for most posters it is summer and people are on seasonal leave, travelling with their families or enjoying the weather and the outdoors instead of huddling over the CPU for warmth. Board traffic may well pick up in the fall.

Also, a year ago (to the day }}:-\) the domain's database was lost in an unfortunate incident involving the now former upstream provider. The boards were down for a month so no one could find them, and all of the contact information was lost so that we could not update board members as to what was going on.  Once Lady K'Zin had selected and installed the the new forum software, all we had to start over with were the threads that could be salvaged through Google's cache system and whatever email addresses I had in my email application from private correspondance with various board members over the previous year.

The long-term answer is that Klindom in general is on the decline. I believe this mirrors the decline of the franchise in general. Those in a position to know have told me that memberships are down in such prominent Klingon organizations as the KIDC, KAG, and the KLI.

But that needen't impede activity here on the boards.  Though there is a wide variety of topics addressed in the threads no doubt we are missing important issues.  I urge you to read through the threads.  You may find topics that interest you to which you can contribute new insight, or come up with questions that have yet to be addressed. And if there is anything you have ever wanted to know about Klingons but have been afraid to ask, here is your chance. Just bear in mind that, as you mentioned above, traffic has been slow. Your post may not get an immediate response.

There's only one little problem, it's Winter down here ans summer up there, so i'm not surprised ppl 'up there' r outside, but 'down here' it's cold enough to keep the heaters running full-bore nearly 24-7. Plus we are approx 16-20 hours ahead of 'up there' (GMT +10:00 in Australia).
And our seasons are the opposite season of 'up there' cos we are 'down here'.

['Up there' means above the equator, 'down here' means below the equator for those who are confused]

I said most. As indicated by those who have given a location in their member profiles, most posters are from North America with a smattering from Europe.  However, posters from any hemisphere are welcome, and if you can interest any Australians or New Zealanders in coming on board, more power to you. }}:-)

There aren't too many Aussies that I know that like Star Trek other than a few people in my family. So it's gonna be a wee bit hard to find people to try and recruit into this group.

I agree. I too am not sure of the Aussie connection.
Recruitment in its self is a rocky task, and weeding thru those that are serious does have its just rewards.
There are many out their that "like Star Trek", but getting them involved in something other watching is a rough road.

I only found this site whilst looking for websites on learning klingon, but no one I know will be bothered to try that same thing that I did just to join-up in my experiance.
