I been a member of the Razor Klaw Fleet for some years (almost 4 years) now. I want to learn the Klingon Language.

Do someone want to help me here learn the language?

Please.

Cheers to everyone. Sad

The Forums have had several representatives of the Klaw Krew pass through their gates since they were established a year and a half ago...

First and foremost, you need to get a copy of The Klingon Dictionary (abbreviated TKD).  It contains the {Hol}'s grammar and syntax as well as a large glossary. If possible, get the larger white trade paperback edition instead of the earlier blue edition with the raised Bird of Prey on the cover -- it has more material. Used bookstores are your best bet, price wise. If you cannot find a copy you can order a used one online here.

Several others have professed a desire to learn the language, but if they have  followed through with it they have not done so here. Our resident language enthusiasts at this point include ngabwI', Klythe, and tmk1000.

The KIDC has its own chat page at http://klingon.org/cgi-sys/mchat.cgi?chann...nel=klingon.org. Perhaps you could PM or email those people listed above and ask them if they would like to schedule practice/Q&A sessions.

The thread How long did it take you to learn thlIngan? suggests learning strategies.

Other than that, you are most likely to succeed by becoming involved with the Klingon Language Institute (KLI). They specialize in the language aspect of Klindom; we cover everything else. }};  )
Among other things they offer an on-line postal course.

I hope you will post any other questions or ideas you may have regarding things Klingon.

Wishing you {Qapla!} (success!) in your endeavors,

I noticed you posted a link to a chatroom.  The KLI has a MUSH on which folks can hang out and talk about, or in, Klingon.  Telnet to kli.org port 2218 to reach it.

Is that addy for the Hol MUSH still current? I can't raise anything on it. Has it relocated or something?

I'm afraid the MUSH is no longer up. It went unused for some time, and the person running it (SuStel) has left the KLI, so it fell into a general state of disrepair.

Sorry about that, y'all.

Ah fooey. (qu'vatlh! ? I forget. Something like that  Tongue )

Well, in the absence of MUSH-space, is there a Hol irc channel or something?

Or alternatively, is anyone able to suggest a Trek-themed MUSH or MUSH-like space which features a klingon empire with a few Hol addicts? I did hunt around but most MUSHes seem to have a population of around 3 and a half these days.

I ask because I am phsyically distant from other Hol speakers so I really need some kind of virtual space to practice in.

Then I recommend the KLI's email discussion group. Physical distance is no object (the probable next Beginners' Grammarian is Austrailian). Sign up, and see how it works for you. }}: )

I am currently looking for two things:

An SMS printer (I hear there is one) and a T9 klingon dictionary for my mobile phone.

I've recently started SMSing with a klingonist I know who does not have an Internet connection like I do...

There are lots of other ways to get in contact with other Klingonists...
