So I just came across some new online dictionary which looks like it's tied into the movie or something, was wondering if anybody here has downloaded this? I was thinking about maybe getting it for my iphone.  Please let me know cuz I don't wanna download it if it's not any good! or does anybody know of any other good ones which I can download to my iphone?

While I don't have an iPhone and haven't tried those particular applications, if you are interested in tlhIngan Hol, the official Klingon Language, then you won't find a better backing than The Klingon Language Institute.  Since the application says it has been battle-tested by the KLI, the it should be as accurate as any electronic resource.

Then again there are a number of documented mistakes in the canonical printed dictionary as well as the other printed works.   The KLI is generally aware of these errors.  Hopefully these are corrected in the application.

The Ultralingua Klingon dictionary is about as good as it gets. As a simple vocabulary reference, it's fine. It won't help you know how to put words together to form grammatically correct Klingon sentences, though.

A handful of words that have come to light over the past couple of years didn't make it into the initial release of the application, and there was at least one typo ("Kayless" instead of "Kahless" in one place) in the copy I saw. The search feature is somewhat stymied when it comes to initial apostrophes, and the word analysis doesn't like them at the end of words either. However, none of those flaws keep it from being a useful (and usable) tool.

I definitely approve of, and highly recommend, the Conversational Klingon app that goes along with it. It contains the full audio of the original tape, with on-screen text for the Klingon and associated translations.

I've used it as a gimmick out of curiosity, but  only  because I  use a lot of other professional Ultralingua dictionaries for other languages on  both my  computer and iPhone too. Based on  the price, I  guess it represents value for money, but  I  don't really  have much  interest in  learning Klingon.

Apparently, according  to  their newsletter,  Ultralingua will be releasing  their products for the Blackberry soon, so I suppose that will  include the Klingon  Language Suite.
