[Edit -- This thread splits off from the House VamPyr thread.]

Wow, Welcome back VamPyr.

Interesting that you bring up blood pie, because I have often wondered what Rokeg meant, in that context. Is Rokeg a region or a type of animal or a condition the blood must be in to make pie? I seem to remember some explanation of Bloodwine involving worms that eat blood, but I don't remember the whole thing.

I Had Not Thought Much about What Rokeg might be...? Hmmm... And I Remember a Similar piece of Trivia about Blood Worms and Blood Wine... (I always Wondered if that was a Subtle Nod to Tequila)

As Far as Blood Goes, I Think that the Distinction was Not that Klingons Do Not Eat Blood, but that there would be (Is), Some Convention against What Amounted to Cannibalism... (If Only For the Sake Of Conservation of the Empires Resources)...

I am quite certain Rokeg is a region.
This would leave it open for speculation for us Humans...

K'tesh has made some, apparently. He also left us a recipe

Blood wine is, as far as I'm aware, made from excretions of the regulan bloodworm. Don't know where I found that though, and can't post the proof either }}:-(

I have always thought myself that rokeg was a type of animal rather than a place.

I found a picture of it http://www.geocities.com/Ktesh_kag/bloodpie.gif and a bunch of info on it http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Rokeg_blood_pie Anyone have any idea what rokeg does mean? I'm guessing it's some sort of animal or method of preparing blood pie?

The ro'qegh in ro'qegh 'Iwchab rokeg blood pie might just be a name, with no deeper meaning.

On the other hand, it matches the nouns ro' fist and qegh vat, barrel. That suggests that rokeg might refer to its being produced in a small specialized container known as a fist-barrel.

I suspect that it's just a name, with no deeper meaning.  Tongue

Actually, you could be on to something with the fist-barrel thing. Perhaps it is just a name, but don't give up on trying to figure out what rokeg means. I also thought that maybe it's prepared kind of like wine; a foot stamps on a barrel of grapes, except that a klingon's fist mashes a barrel of whatever rokeg blood pie is made of to make the dough or sauce or whatever to make rokeg blood pie. Just a speculation...
