I wanted to come with a phrase that meant "fire at will". I came up with tlhab (free, be free, independent) baH (fire). Is this correct? If not, how would I say it?

I think tlhab baH comes closest to something like shoot freedom (as a projectile).

If you want to order your gunner to "fire freely", try baHtaH.

Unless I'm mistaken, taH means "be at a negative angle" so why would I put it after baH?

-taH is a verb suffix meaning "continuous action". It is completely different from the verb taH.

Actually, I think baHrupDI' yIbaH is closer to "Fire at will" ("When you are ready to fire, fire!"). baHtaH is closer to "Keep on firing!".
