Greetings all members of the Imperial Forums,

My name is Floris Schönfeld and I am a master student at the Royal conservatoire of Music in The Hague, The Netherlands.

For my study I have done an extensive research project on the high art of Klingon Opera.
I have founded the Klingon Terran Research Ensemble here in the Netherlands whose goal it is to further understand and perform traditional Klingon music.
With the ensemble we have developed various prototype Klingon ochestral instruments.
For results of my research and recent performances by the KTRE please see the links below.

The ensemble is currently working a pilot version of the Klingon opera 'U' that will performed at the Zeebelt Theater on the 4th, 5th and 6th of July in The Hague.
All Klingons are very welcome and will be admitted for free if in proper attire.
For reservations and information see www.zeebelt.nl

Yours honorably,

Floris Schönfeld

    Very impressive, not only are you investing heavily in increasing what we know about Klingon music, but you are compelling other Terrans to do the same.   Are you compelling them, or have you been able to impart upon them a genuine passion for Klingon music?

    I'm very interested in your Klingon musical theroy work and would like to discuss this with you over in our Klingon Music Forum.   Discovering the  design principles behind klingon music will help others compose more and more appropriate Klingon music.  Would you mind if I posted some or all of your research there to start a discussion with the hopes of refining or discovering additional principles?

Greetings Klythe.

That you for your response.

To your first question;
I had to convince some of the ensemble members to join in the research but this went surprisingly easy and after a few sessions there seemed to be a genuine interest in further developing play technique and think outside the Terran-musical-box.

To your second question;
I would gladly share my research with the forum and am very interested to hear what members have to say about it!
I must remind you that I am a Terran researching a very complex (and beautiful!) musical culture that is relatively alien to me and am thus an outsider that I can only refer to secondary sources .
Perhaps there are members of the forum who will be able to correct my way of interpreting certain things in a more fitting Klingon way?
This would be very helpful for my research!

If you want I will send you a version of my translation of the paq'jachchu or else you have my permission to copy the information on the ktre website and pasting it in the forum.

Much Qapla'

Floris
