howdy
can someone translate "own the day". its a phrase from Voyager - Ashes To Ashes by Lindsay Ballard
it is supposed to be an old klingon battle cry.
i have search many sites trying to find a translation for this one.

Literally: "own the day" becomes "jaj vIghaj"
   jaj       = day
   vIghaj = I have it / I own it

I guess this is actually an idiom, perhaps similar to the idiom "carpe diem" / "seize the day".

Idioms cannot be translated literally, you need to rephrase the thought into something non-idiomatic and translate that instead.

"own the day" might mean something like "enjoy the day" or "take the initiative" or "beat your enemies today" or something...
