I have been studying the Klingon language since the dictionary was first
published in 1985.

The study and speaking of this forceful language is exhilarating.  Language
specifically relates to the culture of any species and is always the first
place to start for clearer understanding.

To better assist with learning I recommend joining the Klingon Language
Institute.  KLI can be contacted at www.kli.org.  They have a postal course
that you can complete via e-mail that can help you learn the finer lexicon.
They maintain tlhIngan Hol mu'mey - words that are not published in the
dictionary that helps with communication.  The KLI also has e-mail
discussion groups and Klingon newspapers to assist you with your studies.
Their quarterly journal, HolQeD, explores the rules and variations of
syntax.

Other tools include the audio tapes and CDs published by Marc Okrand.  With
these you can hear the language being spoken at differing speeds which
helps with interpretation of spoken words.  It also helps with correct
pronunciation.

Your biggest help will be not to ever give up, do not abandon your studies
but stick with it - it is rewarding.

I used to learn french back in school, and I find Klingon much much easier.
No worrying about conjegations or gender. No la, le or les to think about.
It's a very straight forward language that just stamps itself into your
head.

I have the grammer down pretty good, my tough spot is vocabulary. I stuided
french and Klingon alongside each other and learned about 3 times the amout
of Klingon than french.

Now, I remember very little French, but plenty of Klingon
