I have attempted to translate the conversation between Scotty, Chekov, and Korax from TOS: "The Trouble with Tribbles."

The original is as follows:
Korax: "That sagging old rust bucket is designed like a garbage scow! Half the quadrant knows it; that's why they're learning to speak Klingonese!"
Chekov: "Mr. Scott!!"
Scotty: "Laddie... don't you think you should... rephrase that?"
Korax: "Yehhhr right, ah shooold. I didn't mean to say the Enterprise should be hauling garbage, I meant to say that it should be hauled away AS garbage!!!!"
(FYI: Easy to miss: Korax makes fun of Scotty's accent.)

My Klingon translation attempt:
qoraQ: veQDuj rur Dujvetlh ngo'bogh raghpu'bogh! Dochvam Sov jogh bID; meqvammo' tlhIngan Hol lughojlI'!
cheQov: SIqot Soghla'
SIqot: mu'tlheghvam mu' DachoHnIS 'e' DaHar'a'?
qoraQ: bIlugh, DachoHnIS. veQ HIjnIS 'entepray' 'e' vIjatlh 'e' vIHechbe', veQ 'oH 'entepray''e' 'e' vIjatlh 'e' vIHech!

Good? Bad? Fair?

Good. Not perfect -- no translation of a nontrivial passage can be -- but good.

The Sci-Fi Channel special presentation of Star Trek almost ten years ago showed how some of the scenes appeared in the Klingon Empire. This was one of the dubbed lines:

Quote
'entepray' wIparHa'.  wIparHa'bej.  veQDuj rur raghtaHbogh
tu'HomI'raHvetlh Qop.  'e' luSov bID joghnganpu', vaj tlhIngan Hol
lughojlI'.

We like the Enterprise. We absolutely do. That worn-out decaying dunsel is like a garbage scow. Half the inhabitants of the quadrant know that, thus they are in the process of learning Klingon.

In order to succeed, you must enjoy eating poison!

Very interesting! Do you have any idea who did that translation?

I believe credit goes to the Klingon Language Institute. It was a group effort.
