Hello all,

I am new here.

My experience with Klingon is varied.  In the 1990's I played paintball on a professional team that spoke Klingon on the field as code.  It has been a while since I spoke the language, and most of what I do know relates to combat, which is not entirely a bad thing...

I have spent much time on the station in Las Vegas, discussing many things with Major Kahlen (who I have great respect for), Cmdr. Churoq, Motog, Lt. Cmdr. Voq'ha, and others that have served on the station before.   At one point squared off with one who questioned my honor.  I proved to him I have the heart of a warrior.  We drank together, and sang Klingon opera.  On our last visit to the station Cmdr. Churoq attempted to take a seat away from my mate.  It did not go well for him, and, suffice to say, she kept her chair...

I am a warrior.  I am trained in many disciplines, from multiple hand to hand arts, to hand weapons, to range weapons.  I am big, strong, and blindingly fast.  I have fought more battles than I can count, and I still stand.  I bear the scars of many encounters with pride.  That which does not kill me had better run away g'day't fast.  My house is honorable.  My father killed 23 of his enemies at the battles of Leyte Gulf, Coral Sea, and Midway.

I am not accustomed to talking so much about myself, but I do realize this is an introduction.

I am here because I have grown sick of humans.  Most are weak, and do nothing to change their condition.  They complain rather than act, and when they do act, most think of nothing but themselves, and then they complain about the result of their actions.  As soon as I finish this entry I will spend two hours training at a level that would kill most humans.  They will then tell me that I am "lucky" to be so strong.  I have spent 20+ years building my business ventures.  They tell me I am "lucky" to be so successful.

Luck has nothing to do with either.

I am tired of them.

So I look to the Klingon Empire to find those of like mind.

Most impressive.  I must admit that I myself am less literally a warrior in real life.   I think that many in the fandom are fighting for something.  It must be understood that not all Klingons can be warriors. some must stay behind and support and supply the warriors who fight abroad.  Some must stay behind and provide strength in all it's forms to those who are not warriors.  Some must concentrate on improving the technologies and tools of warriors and non-warriors alike.

An empire that consists only of warriors is doomed to fall.  Sparta was an empire that concerned itself only with the might of the warriors.   Now there are no Spartans, they are remembered for their heroics and their might, but they are no less dead.  Survival does not imply success and mere death does not mean you a defeated, but when there are none left to take up the fight who can deny failure then?

I forget myself when there is a topic to argue.  I myself love a good word battle, which is probably why I have been here for so long.  }}:]  I did not intend to greet a distinguished warrior with a rant, but rather with a headbutt of friendship.  *Wham* Cheesy Klingon Grin

Welcome to the Klingon Imperial Forums.   True warriors are always welcome in the empire.  These forums operate under the auspices of the Klingon Imperial Diplomatic Corp, so some level of diplomacy must be maintained.  I see that you do understand this.  Then we will have many glorious word battles in the future!  I am glad you are here.

Understood, and that there are differing levels of warrior as well.  There are those that serve in our military, and for them being a warrior, if that is their designation, is a career.

When I speak of being a warrior, I speak both in a literal sense, as well as metaphorical.  I have spent many weeks training at Thunder Ranch http://www.thunderranchinc.com/ and have then used that knowledge to train others.  I hold high ranking belts in three martial arts, have been a professional kick boxer, held national ranking in Sabre fencing, as well as having been coach of the same at several Universities. I also own and train a professional stage combat team that performs all over the country www.knightsofiron.com .  That is the literal sense.

The metaphorical is, perhaps, more important.  I refuse to submit to the pressures of society to live in their mold, to do things their way.  That is often harder than gaining the ability to punch someone in the nose correctly.  Having the power to believe in yourself, in your beliefs, and your destiny when all others are telling you are wrong, truly takes the heart of a warrior.

If I were to write the history of my life it would be done in the things that others said I could not do...

I understand diplomacy.  I also understand when it is time to stop being diplomatic, something I think many have forgotten.  I think if there was a greater possibility of battle, their would be more civility.  Insults, when answered with force, often cease.

I do not.  This was a long time ago, circa 1994-1997ish.  The team was called ICE and played primarily in the Midwest, quartered out of Michigan.  If you know paintball, we were all NAPRA certified referees, and worked a lot of games as well.  I was called upon to come up with a code that could not be picked off on the field.  I chose Klingon, and it worked well.

I am glad to be here as well.  There seem to be many interesting types about, and I would look good in a Klingon uniform... <g>
