Through my many years in fandom, I always enjoyed when our club did fundraisers and community service type projects. I have always enjoyed helping others. This led me to the discovery of a very unique website RobinhoodFund.com. It is a virtual wishing well. Wishes are granted on there once a week and the site is funded by the corporation Cambrian House. Well while visiting this site I ran into a very nice young man who happens to be autistic and a Star Trek Fan. He is currently a college student and almost his entire immediate family are members of the Robinhoodfund forums and site. I have gotten to know them pretty well and they are a wonderful family. Well one of this young man's recent wishes was to bring his family together for a Star Trek Night, which was among his fondest memories growing up. He has been reposting this wish week after week in the hopes of winning enough to bring his family together later this summer. He has not been successful so far. Well this week tragedy struck this family as the young man's grandmother is dying in the hospital. This wish has taken on a whole new significance for this family. They need to be together for support at the death of a loved one. I am only asking that those who would like to help this young man, go and vote for his wish. Its free and it only requires registration on the site which is free and easy.
This links to the young man's profile page and has a link to his wishes. So please feel free to read about him and if you have the time please log in and vote for his wish and make sure to let him know that Klingon Empire supports fellow Star Trek Fans! I found this wish refreshing and charming when I first read it. It is a heartwarming tale of what Star Trek meant in the life of this young man growing up. Thank you for your time and allowing me to share this with you.

I would like to add update to prior message that the young man's grandmother has passed away.

This is the text from his current wish.

Quote
The nature of this wish has changed a fair bit. Last night, our grandmother passed. After that, I couldn't justify leaving this wish in the naughty category, as it has become a nessecity. I NEED to make this happen. I'm wanting to stay focused on positive things right now, so I'm leaving the rest of my description as it was in the naughty category.

If you've been around the site long, I'm sure you've run into at least a couple of us floating about. 3 out of the 8 of us children are still living at home with mom and dad, while the rest of us have spread across the province. What I'd like is a chance to bring all of my brothers and sisters together for a reproduction of an old family tradition: a Star Trek Night!
When we were all at home, many, many moons ago, we'd make up a whole bunch of good food, lay down blankets on the livingroom floor, and watch Star Trek together. To this day, it is one of my favourite shows, because of its social commentary, and positive outlook on the future of mankind. I believe it was this show that first got me interested in politics, and the study of humanity, which is now my major. This time we'd be gathering from North Bay, Ottawa, Wanup, and Missisauga to watch our favourite episodes, and to go out to my parents camp to make smores! It's been so long since we've been together, I'd just love to make this happen for my siblings. My eldest brother hasn't even met his neice yet!

Thank you in advance. Qua'pla, Jolan Tru, and Live Long and Prosper!
