Hi there...

My name is Christopher Kidder.  I am the artistic director of a theatre in Saint Paul, MN.  We are newly dedicated to doing works of translated theatre.  That normally means translating stuff from other languages into English, but for this Holiday season we wanted to try doing a show translated into Klingon.  So... I am currently doing up a 1 hour adaptation of "A Christmas Carol."  I am looking for someone to take my English version and Translate it into Klingon.  I'm not talking about a computer translation.  We're planning on this being a pretty big deal with about 10 actors playing all the roles between them, a live soundtrack, and English supertitles projected for those who need them.

If you'd be willing to become a part of this project, we'd love to have you.

I can be contacted at cokidder@cbtheatre.org

Thanks,
Chris Kidder

If you haven't contacted the Klingon Language institute (KLI.org), you want to do that immediately.  As far as I know they are the only group that has the resources to complete major projects like this.   They will also be able to give you a realistic time estimate based on experience with past projects, and they may be able to manage the translation project for you.   Without their support, I don't know how such a large project can be completed on time.

I just saw this thread, and I wonder how the work has faired on this project. I am attempting to perform some work in Klingon myself, and as a theatre person, I am curious to know if you have workshopped tlingon Hol with a resident ensemble of actors.  I am personally experiencing right now how exponentially hard it is to prepare Shakespeare on top of learning a new language. Eeh!
