Inspirational? Eh. Think of it as an example of “new media”.
If you have been active on the net in the last six months you have probably seen a cat macro/lolcat or three whether you realize it or not. They are basically a “caption this” featuring pictures of cats (usually) with the worst spelling and grammar possible. They got a big boost when
Oscar the Death Cat was in the midst of his fifteen minutes. Since then they’ve branched out into
lolruses (wif or wifout bukkit);
lolgeeks;
(If This Sort Of Thing Bothers You, DO NOT CLICK ON) lolgays;
lolfaults (hand to blade, I think I took that Wallace Creek photo back in ‘90, and it looks like it’s made the rounds);
loltheorists (beware obscure references);
lolbrarians;
O RLY owls.... Laughing Squid did a feature on
Roll Your Own LOLs with examples of lols run amok. There’s even a
Bible written in LOLcat.
(Addendum: Best lolrus ever:
Does Jamie has teh bukkit?)
So it was only a matter of time until someone gave Trek the lol treatment. The folks over at
Live Granades have taken up the challenge and have lolized the episode
We Has Tribbles And Also Troubles. Not much Klingon content, I know. Koloth is a squirrelly twit, Kirk and Spock get the best lines (natch), and I think Kirk is channeling the
Rev. Billy C. Wirtz’s mother (“Whut?”). But I found it to be very funny and hope that you will as well. U reedz?
(Note: For some reason, the loltrek won't load properly on Firefox but has no problems with Safari. Has anyone else had a similar problem?)
