naDev jIH 'e' vIquv: "vIquv" I am honored, with the direct object implied in "vI-" as on pp. 66 TKD, "yaS qIppu' 'e' vIlegh."  So, I meant to say, "I am honored that I am here," literally.  Perhaps quv "to be honored" acts like neH "to want" in that the marker 'e' is not needed?  Or maybe there's a better way to express this altogether.

(This should really be in the Language Forums, but I don't know how to move it.)

Your other two sentences are right on, but I'd like to comment on this one, if you don't mind.

I understood what you wanted to say, but you are trying to directly render an English form that doesn't have an exact equivalent in Klingon. quv is a quality verb, which means it doesn't take an object at all. So you are right that the 'e' is not needed; also you need to use the "1st person subject-no object" verb prefix, so jIquv 'I am honored'.  So, how to tie the "I am here" part to the rest of the sentence?  You are really saying that you are honored because you are here, so the noun suffix -mo' 'because (of)' works fine: naDev jIHmo' jIquv 'I am honored because I am here."

But you seem to have a good beginning grasp of the language, so don't take my criticism badly. majQa'.

Well it's a fabulous site!  The movies are especially hliarious, and very well done!  I never considered a lego medium before.  I've done a lot of voice acting in other languages myself (here is a somewhat recent example if you are interested; I translated and recorded the Abbot and Costello routine "Who's on First" in Latin, "Quis in Prima'st" : http://www.laureola.org/ ), so if you are interested in collaborating together on some Klingon recordings, let me know! you'll have a willing wo' vaj*.

Incidentally, it was the invisiboard software that had the problems with the appostrophes in user names.  This version has seperate fields for your username(the one you type when you log in), and your display name (how your name is displayed on the forums).  There are no issues with Appostrophes in the display name section.

"Who's on First?" in Latin?  Wow that is cool.

How about "Who's on First" Klingon? Would it be wa'DIchDaq 'Iv?

The "official" version is 'Iv ghaH baHwI''e' Who is the gunner.

'Iv ghaH baHwI''e', nuq ghaH DeghwI''e', jISovbe' ghaH chIjwI''e'.
Who's the gunner, what's the helmsman, I don't know's the navigator.

The recording might be available from Captain Krankor. I'll ask him when I see him at the tlhIngan Hol yejHaD qep'a' Klingon Language Institute's conference next month. The transcript is in volume 4 of jatmey, the KLI's occasional publication of original short stories and songs.

In the future, please be sure to specify/site your "official" sources. One person's definitive source is another's hearsay and yet another's default, and Lady K'Zin's hit trackers do occasionally register ships from Viacom's legal fleet.
