Greetings.

Having just recently finished viewing the Klingon fan collective DVD set, I found myself mystified as to why some episodes were chosen for inclusion, rather than others, supposedly by 'fans' on some site or another.

Sure there were some most excellent episodes included, but they left out episodes like 'Birthright, part II - (TNG)' and 'Rightful Heir' - (TNG)

I wonder if the fans surveyed for these choices were true Klin-folk or maybe just generally interested Trek fans?

Just my thoughts on that....

Qapla!

The episodes were chosen by general fan vote at the official Trek website. How could you confine votes to Klinfolk? And Klinfolk represent but a fraction of the overall Trek market. TFIC would be putting a dent in their profits were they to limit their survey to Klinfolk.

The episose I can’t believe they left out was “Day of the Dove”.. *tsk tsk* Criminal. As it stands they might as well have named the set “Star Trek Fan Collective: Worf’s Greatest Tantrums” and been done with it. }}>:-(

Gaffers make appreciative and supportive remarks in the form of bad imitations of primate calls from the direction of the lighting grids.

I received two of these for my Birthday this year Cheesy

I have to say that I was a little saddened myself by the limited nature of these "Klingon" episodes... But what really has me flummoxed is the that there are several repeat episodes amongst the various "Collections". (Those episodes in RED appear in more than one set).

Borg Collection

Enterprise:
- Regeneration.

Star Trek: TNG
- Q Who?
- The Best of Both Worlds (Parts I & II).
- I Borg.
- Descent (Parts I & II).

Star Trek: VOY
- Scorpion. (Parts I & II).
- Drone.
- Dark Frontier
- Unimatrix Zero. (Parts I & II).
- Endgame.

Klingon Collection

Enterprise:
-Broken Bow.

Star Trek: TOS
- Errand of Mercy.
- The Trouble with Tribbles.

Star Trek: TNG
- A Matter of Honor.
- Sins of the Father.
- Redemption Parts (Parts I & II).

Star Trek: DS9
- The Way of the Warrior.
- The Sword of Kahless.
- Trials and Tribble-ations.

Star Trek: VOY
- Barge of the Dead.

Q- Collection

Star Trek: TNG
- Encounter at Farpoint.
- Hide and Q.
- Q Who.
- Deja Q.
- Qpid.
- Tapestry.
- All Good Things.

Star Trek: DS9
- Q-less.

Star Trek: VOY
- Death Wish.
- The Q and the Grey.
- Q2.

Time Travel Collection

Star Trek: TOS
- Tomorrow is Yesterday.
- City on the Edge of Forever.

Star Trek: TNG
- Yesterday's Enterprise.
- Cause and Effect.
- Time's Arrow (Parts I & II).
- All Good Things.

Star Trek: DS9
- Little Green Men.
- Trials and Tribble-ations.

Star Trek: VOY
-Year of Hell (Parts I & II).
- Endgame.

Now it could be argued that this is to be expected, since "Fans" not "Borg/Klingon/Q/Time Travel" fans voted... But still, I know what the surveys are like on ST.Com, they give you a limited selection and you vote... So they must have included some of the same episodes in multiple lists... Now obviously, it is difficult to say rather Trials and Tribble-ations for instance, is more Klingon, or more Time Travel, so the job could not have been easy... Perhaps the same could be said of Endgame...

Regardless, I have looked at all of these in the store several times, and the same thing keeps me from buying any of them, which is; that I do not want 3 copies of Trials and Tribble-ations (Substitute episode of choice), because I own DS9, Klingon Fan Collective, and Time Travel Collective... It is a little frustrating... Not much, but enough to keep me from buying them...

That said, had I not been given copies of Klingon Collective for my Birthday, I probably would have purchased it in-spite of my feelings about the others...

Interestingly, There are two new fan collections being proposed on the ST.Com site. Captains, and Alternate Realities... The alternate realities is basically a Mirror Universe set with a couple extras... The survey is open right now... HERE

maj! {Good}...
